Dubai Central Library
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library (MBR) is a large library in the Al Jaddaf locality of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Dubai Creek that opened to the public on June 16, 2022 Overview The design of the library is inspired by the shape of a lectern. The main features of this library will be a conference centre, exhibition spaces, a children's library, a bookshop on the ground floor, reading halls, service areas, a business library, and training halls. The basement of the library will be able to accommodate around a thousand cars. The project took over 6 years to complete at a cost of AED1 billion. 300,000 to 400,000 volumes will be available in the library's open-access section. The library will have book handling and information systems. Dubai Creek
Dubai Creek ( ar, خور دبي, Khūr Dubay) has been described as a natural saltwater creek, tidal inlet, and watercourse or waterway in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). It extends about inwards and forms a natural port that has traditionally been used for trade and transport. The creek ranges from in width while the average depth is about . Previously, it extended to Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary but as part of the new Business Bay Canal and Dubai Canal, it extends a further to the Persian Gulf. Some sources say that the creek historically extended as far inland as Al Ain, and that the Ancient Greeks called it River Zara. Dubai Public Library
Dubai Public Libraries (مكتبات دبي العامة) is a library system of the Dubai Municipality serving Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The system, the oldest in the UAE, began in 1963 when Al Ras Public Library was built in the Al Ras area of Deira, central Dubai. Al Ras Public Library
Al Ras Public Library (aka the Dubai Central Public Library) is the oldest library in Dubai, UAE, opened in 1963. It is located in Al Ras, Deira. Al Ras Public Library was the first public library in Dubai, inaugurated by Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum in 1963. The library includes more than 100,000 books in a number of languages and over 170 periodicals. The library has an activity room, audio-visual facilities, a reading hall, and a separate section for children's literature. The library announced that it was closing for renovation work in September 2019. The nearest Dubai Metro station is Al Ras on the Green Line. Nowadays, the library is one of a number of Dubai Public Libraries. Green Line (Dubai Metro)
The Green Line is one of the two lines in the Dubai Metro network in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It runs through Deira and Bur Dubai, generally parallel to Dubai Creek. There are 20 stations on the line, spanning from Etisalat to Creek (numbered 11 to 30 in zones 5 and 6) covering . It was built by a consortium of Mitsubishi, Obayashi, Kajima and Yapı Merkezi. Creek (Dubai Metro)
Creek (aka Dubai Creek, ar, الخور) is a rapid transit station on the Green Line of the Dubai Metro in Dubai, UAE. It serves as the western terminus of the line. The station officially opened on 1 March 2014. The Green Line was initially designed to terminate at Dubai Healthcare City, but an extension was added to Dubai Creek via Al Jadaf metro station. Dubai Metro
The Dubai Metro is a rapid transit rail network in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is currently operated by the French company Keolis. The Red Line and Green Line are operational, with a major 15 km (9.3 mi) extension to the Red Line known as Route 2020 to the Expo 2020 site announced in April 2015 and opened in 2021. These first two lines run underground in the city centre and on elevated viaducts elsewhere. In building construction, topping out (sometimes referred to as topping off) is a builders' rite traditionally held when the last beam (or its equivalent) is placed atop a structure during its construction.
