Duane Bailey
Duane Benjamin Bailey (born 28 October 1991) is a New Zealand former professional basketball player who played in the New Zealand NBL and the Australian NBL. Early life Born in Auckland, Bailey played both rugby and basketball in primary school. In 2003 and 2004, he attended Rangeview Intermediate School. For high school, he attended Mount Albert Grammar School where he graduated Year 12 in 2009. In 2010, he attended Fraser High School in Hamilton, New Zealand for one final year where he was a member of Fraser's national championship-winning team. As a junior, Bailey played in the Conference Basketball League for the JTB/Breakers in 2008 and for the Waikato Titans in 2010. The small forward (SF), also known as the three or swingman, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. Small forwards are typically shorter, quicker, and leaner than power forwards and centers but taller, larger, and stronger than either of the guard positions. 2015 New Zealand NBL Season
The 2015 NBL season was the 34th season of the National Basketball League. The season draw was supposed to be released in December 2014, but the withdrawal of Otago and Waikato prompted a rethink for the 2015 competition format. In the past, each team played each other twice in a 10-team competition, meaning each franchise had nine home games. However, with two fewer teams in 2015, it was decided the new format would be played over two and half rounds to keep incomes at a similar rate for the remaining sides. Each team was scheduled to play each other twice and play three of the sides in a third game. The 2015 pre-season tournament was held at the Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua on Saturday 21 March and Sunday 22 March. Jason Cadee
Jason Robert Cadee (born 15 April 1991) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Brisbane Bullets of the National Basketball League (NBL). He is also the team captain for the Bullets. Early life and career Cadee was born and raised in the Sydney suburb of Greenacre. He attended Westfields Sports High School in the nearby suburb of Fairfield West, where he earned Hall of Fame status for basketball. He grew up playing for the Bankstown Bruins junior program. The Conference Basketball League (CBL) was a second-tiered men's semi-professional basketball league in New Zealand. New Zealand NBL Most Outstanding Kiwi Forward/Centre Award
The National Basketball League Most Outstanding Kiwi Forward/Centre is an annual National Basketball League (NBL) award given since the 1985 New Zealand NBL season to the best performing New Zealand player of the regular season who is classified as a small forward, power forward or centre. The majority of recipients are power forwards who can also play centre when required. Notable small forwards to have won the award include Terrence Lewis (2001), Thomas Abercrombie (2009 & 2010) and Duane Bailey (2014). The winner of the award receives the Stan Hill Trophy, which is named in honour of Hill, a former NBL player and coach who represented the New Zealand men's national basketball team during the 1970s and 1980s. The National Basketball League (NBL) Grand Final is the championship series at the conclusion of the NBL to determine the NBL champion. Between 1979 and 1986, the league used a single game to determine the champion. From 1986 to 2003, the league used a best-of-three series format. Plymouth Raiders
The Plymouth Raiders was a professional basketball team based in Plymouth, England. The team competed in the British Basketball League, the country's premier basketball competition. The club was founded in 1983 through a merger between two local basketball clubs and went on to be the longest-serving and most successful team in Division 1 of the English Basketball League. Between 1996 and 2004, Plymouth Raiders won six different competitions, including three National Basketball League Play-off titles and the National Cup in 2004.
