''Drummer'' is the second studio album by Australian indie pop singer G Flip, released on 11 August 2023 through Future Classic. It was preceded by four singles: "Be Your Man", " The Worst Person Alive", " Good Enough", and "Australia". It debuted atop the ARIA Albums Chart. G Flip toured Australia and North America in support of the album. Background The album was announced on 28 June 2023, alongside the album's second single, with G Flip saying "Growing up watching pop music icons, I never saw a solo artist whose main instrument was drums. I wanted to make the album that my kid self dreamed of—a hybrid of pop/rock but with drums out the front. Incorporating groove, tempo, feel and drum moments while still making catchy pop music. Georgia Claire Flipo, known professionally as G Flip, is an Australian singer, songwriter, producer, drummer, and musician from Melbourne, Victoria. They released their debut studio album, '' About Us'', on 30 August 2019. Early life and education Flipo attended primary school at Our Lady of the Assumption Primary School (OLA) in Cheltenham, Victoria and secondary school at Star of the Sea College in Brighton, Victoria, graduating in 2011. Musical career Flipo has been playing drums since the age of nine, and percussion still forms a big part of their songwriting process despite now being a multi-instrumentalist. They said that they "spent most of 2017 holed up in their bedroom writing and recording", having previously performed in various different Melbourne music acts as a session drummer and occasional backup vocalist. Ajay Bhattacharyya, known professionally as Stint, is a Canadian record producer and songwriter. He has produced songs for Gallant, MØ, Carly Rae Jepsen, Demi Lovato, NAO and Zara Larsson. Sarah Paige Aarons (born 4 October 1994, previously known as Paige IV and sometimes simply as Sarah) is a songwriter from Bentleigh, Melbourne, Australia. Now based in Los Angeles, Aarons is signed to Sony ATV Publishing. She co-wrote "Stay" by Zedd and Alessia Cara and " The Middle" by Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey, which both went to #1 on Mainstream Top 40 and were each certified double platinum in the US.
