Druid Park
Druid Park (originally known as the Wheatsheaf Ground) is a multi-purpose stadium in Woolsington, north Newcastle upon Tyne in England. It is currently used mostly for rugby union matches and was the home stadium of Gosforth RFC from 2007–2014. Druid Park is the home of Fawdon FC (formally of The Northeast Combination League Premier Division and they are playing in the Northern Football Alliance League Division 3 for the 2021/22 season. The ground Druid Park used to be the ground of the Newcastle Blue Star football club. It currently uses artificial turf. For the 2007/08 season, Gosforth RFC moved to a new ground, Druid Park, from their former location Bullocksteads Sports Ground. Dave Thompson, the major shareholder of Newcastle Falcons, invited Gosforth to be the main player at Druid Park. Thompson took a 25-year lease on the ground. Woolsington
Woolsington is a village in, and civil parish of, Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is located north-west of the city centre, covering a large geographical area. It was also formerly an electoral ward, although the ward was slightly larger than the civil parish, extending slightly further south. The parish also includes Newbiggin Hall, Woolsington village and Newcastle Airport. It had a population of 11,160 as of the 2011 Census. The place-name 'Woolsington' is first attested in Charter Rolls of 1204, where it appears as ''Wlsinton''. The name means 'the town or settlement of Wulfsige's people'. Gosforth RFC
Gosforth Rugby Football Club is a rugby union team, currently playing in Durham/Northumberland 3 following the club's relegation from Durham/Northumberland 2 at the end of the 2019-20 season. The club was originally established in 1877, however in 1996 the club split in two. One half, Newcastle Gosforth (now Newcastle Falcons) went on to become the first ever professional rugby union club. The Northumberland Vikings are an American Football team based in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, they compete in the BAFA National Leagues NFC 1 Central, the second level of British American football. West Allotment Celtic Football Club is a football club who currently play their home games at East Palmersville Sports Pavilion, Palmersville, near Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. It has four divisions headed by the Premier Division, which sits at step 7 (or level 11) of the National League System. Newcastle Blue Star F.C. is a football club based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It was established in 1930 and joined the Wearside League in 1973. In 1978, it won the FA Vase. Artificial turf is a surface of synthetic fibers made to look like natural grass. It is most often used in arenas for sports that were originally or are normally played on grass. However, it is now being used on residential lawns and commercial applications as well. Newcastle Falcons is a rugby union team that play in Premiership Rugby, England's highest division of rugby union. The club was established in 1877 as the Gosforth Football Club. Around 1882 the club merged with the Northumberland Football Club and briefly assumed their name until 1887.
