Dropped (Consolidated Album)
''Dropped'' is the fifth full-length album by industrial/ hip hop artists Consolidated, which was released in 1998 by G7 Welcoming Committee. The title is an allusion to the band having been "dropped" by London Records because of poor album sales as well as a general reference to men having "dropped the ball" in their relationships. Consolidated (band)
Consolidated is an American radical activist music group, formed in 1988 and best known in the early 1990s as an alternative dance/industrial music band. Between 1989 and 1994, their instrumental style evolved from industrial, to hip-hop, to hard rock and funk with mixtures of live instruments and electronic instruments. They were distinguished by left-leaning political activism and politically radical lyrics, as well as their innovative sonic collages which blended industrial and hip-hop styles. Their music often focused on vegetarianism, women's rights, animal rights, fighting racism and homophobia, the unity of oppression, World War II and the Holocaust, the dangers of capitalism, and the evils of American nationalism. Industrial music is a genre of music that draws on harsh, mechanical, transgressive or provocative sounds and themes. Adam Sherburne is the former lead guitarist, vocalist, and music director for Consolidated, a radical Left industrial band from San Francisco, California that played music covering many hot political topics, including vegetarianism, women's rights, animal rights, the unity of oppression, World War II and The Holocaust, the dangers of capitalism, white supremacy, and the evils of blind nationalism.
