Drop The Beat
''Drop the Beat'' was a Canadian television series produced by Back Alley Film Productions, which aired on CBC Television in 2000 and 2001."TV show puts spotlight on hip-hop". A spinoff of the earlier CBC teen drama series '' Straight Up'', the show starred Mark Taylor as Jeff and Merwin Mondesir as Dennis, the hosts of a hip hop show on CIBJ-FM, a fictional campus radio station in Toronto, Ontario. Michie Mee also starred as Divine, a rapper who was part of Jeff and Dennis' crew, and Ingrid Veninger played the station manager. Ramel Leroy Gill, (born October 18, 1973) better known by his stage name Black Child, is an American rapper from New York City. He is best known for his time being signed to Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. Records and being affiliated with Irv Gotti, Ashanti, and Ja Rule. He appeared on hit singles with Ja Rule and did various songs with other members of Murder Inc. Infinite (rapper)
Desmond Francis, better known by his stage name Infinite, is a Canadian rapper, best known for his contributions to the '' Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike'' soundtrack, and as a member of hip hop group Ghetto Concept. Raised in the Rexdale neighbourhood of Toronto, Infinite is the youngest of three brothers. Urban contemporary music, also known as urban music, hip hop, urban pop, or just simply urban, is a music radio format. CFXJ-FM (93.5 FM, ''93.5 Today Radio'') is a Canadian radio station in Toronto, Ontario. Owned by Stingray Group, it broadcasts an adult hits format. CFXJ's studios are located at Yonge and St. Clair in Toronto's Deer Park neighbourhood, while its transmitter is located at the top of First Canadian Place in Toronto's Financial District.
