The Drones World Tour was a worldwide concert tour by the English Rock music, rock band Muse (band), Muse. Staged in support of the band's 2015 album ''Drones (Muse album), Drones'', the tour visited arenas and festivals throughout 2015 and is the tenth concert tour the band has carried out. It began on 23 May 2015 in Norwich, England at the BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend. The tour has grossed $23M from 34 shows in 2015, plus $65.5M from 64 shows in 2016. A live video of the tour entitled ''Muse: Drones World Tour'', was released in cinemas worldwide on 12 July 2018. Muse are an English Rock music, rock band from Teignmouth, Teignmouth, Devon, formed in 1994. The band consists of Matt Bellamy (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards), Chris Wolstenholme (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Dominic Howard (drums). Muse released their debut album, ''Showbiz (Muse album), Showbiz'', in 1999, showcasing Bellamy's falsetto and a melancholic alternative rock style. Released on December 1, 2003 as the third single from their third studio album, ''Absolution'' (2003), it was written by members Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard, and Chris Wolstenholme, who all co-produced the track with Rich Costey. The song was released as the second single from the album on 8 September 2003 in the United Kingdom and other countries. A live version of the song was released as a download single on 23 August 2004, from which approximately 70% of all proceeds were donated to Oxfam.
