Drofyne ( uk, Дрофине; russian: Дрофино; crh, Mesit) is a village in Nyzhniohirskyi Raion of Crimea. Geography Drofyne is located in the south of the district, in the steppe Crimea, near the border with the Bilohirsk Raion, the altitude is 62 m. The neighboring village: Jastrebski 2.5 km to the West, Strepitosa to the south and Sady to the North-East. Distance to the district center is about 21 kilometer. The closest railway station is Nyzhniohirsk (on line Dzhankoi — Feodosia). There is one school in Drofyne. The Taurida Governorate (russian: Тавріическая губернія, modern spelling , ; crh, script=Latn, Tavrida guberniyası, ) or the Government of Taurida, was a historical governorate of the Russian Empire. It included the Crimean Peninsula and the mainland between the lower Dnieper River and the coasts of the Black Sea and Sea of Azov. Dzhankoi Railway Station
Dzhankoi Railway station (russian: Джанкой, uk, Джанкой, crh, Canköy) is a station in Dzhankoi, one of the biggest railway stations of Crimea, a territory recognized by a majority of countries as part of Ukraine, but ''de facto'' under control and administration of Russia. History The station opened in 1874 in the route Melitopol — Simferopol. In 1892, the station became a hub. The railway junction was twice destroyed during the Civil and Great Patriotic wars. In 2006-2007 the station was renovated and divided into two parts: the commuter station and the main. Suburban station was built from scratch using high platforms (to stop the trains) and turnstile system.
