''Drip Dippy Donald'' is a seven-minute Donald Duck cartoon made by the Walt Disney Company in 1948. The Technicolor cartoon was released by Walt Disney Productions, and distributed by RKO Radio Pictures. The cartoon was directed by the Disney animator Jack King. Plot A deeply sleeping Donald is kicked off the city bus he was riding in when it arrives at his house. Exhausted, he quickly hurries inside and heads straight to bed. The first sign of trouble is caused by a flashing neon sign outside shining through his uncovered window. Donald begins a battle with his belligerent window blind, before he finally nails it to the wall. Feeling content, Donald heads back to bed and instantly falls asleep. It is a short respite. The kitchen faucet begins dripping and seemingly with a mind of its own, it even makes melodies as it drips. James Patton "Jack" King (November 4, 1895 – October 4, 1958)Lenburg (2006), pp. 179-180 was an American animator and short film director best known for his work at Walt Disney Productions. Career According to Jeff Lenburg's assessment of him, King was an early pioneer of animation. His films were nominated three times for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. A Rube Goldberg machine, named after American cartoonist Rube Goldberg, is a chain reaction-type machine or contraption intentionally designed to perform a simple task in an indirect and (impractically) overly complicated way. Usually, these machines consist of a series of simple unrelated devices; the action of each triggers the initiation of the next, eventually resulting in achieving a stated goal. Don Towsley (animator)
Don Towsley (May 11, 1912 – November 25, 1986) was an animator working at Walt Disney Animation Studios, and later at MGM and Filmation. Career Starting out at Disney, Towsley worked on three shorts in the ''Silly Symphony'' series, animating the band in ''The Cookie Carnival'' (1935), a scene of dancing hens ultimately cut from '' Cock o' the Walk'' (1935), and the introduction and opening scene of ''Donald's Better Self'' (1938). In 1938, Towsley became the main animator for the Donald Duck short films, following Fred Spencer's death. Towsley contributed to the 1940 film ''Pinocchio'', as part of the team responsible for Jiminy Cricket and Monstro the Whale.
