Drew Thorpe
Andrew Robert Thorpe (born October 1, 2000) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Chicago White Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2024. Amateur career Thorpe grew up in Washington, Utah, and attended Desert Hills High School in St. George, Utah. He played summer collegiate baseball after graduating Desert Hills High School for the Peninsula Oilers of the Alaska Baseball League. Thorpe attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he played for the Cal Poly Mustangs. Thorpe made four starts and went 1–1 with a 3.21 ERA during his freshman season before it was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic. As a sophomore, he posted a 6–6 record with 3.79 ERA and 104 strikeouts in innings pitched. After the 2021 season, Thorpe played for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. Jhony Rafael Brito (born February 17, 1998) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). Michael McRae King (born May 25, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2019. Amateur career King attended Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick, Rhode Island. He played for the school's baseball team as a pitcher and an outfielder, and helped the team win the Division I state championship in 2012, his junior year. The Somerset Patriots are an American Minor League Baseball team based in Bridgewater Township, New Jersey, that is the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. ''The Tribune'' is a daily broadsheet newspaper and news website that covers San Luis Obispo County, California. It was created in 1939 from a combination of three newspapers founded between 1869 and 1905, and was later acquired by the E. W. Scripps Company. The Big West Conference (BWC) is an American collegiate athletic conference whose member institutions participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The conference was originally formed on July 1, 1969, as the Pacific Coast Athletic Association (PCAA), and in 1988 was renamed the Big West Conference.
