Dreamland Recording Studios
Dreamland Recording Studios is a residential recording studio located in the town of Hurley, New York. Opened in 1986 as a recording facility, the studio is housed in what was once St. John's Church built in 1896. Some of the artists that recorded and produced at Dreamland include The B-52's, Joan Jett, Ace Frehley, Misfits, Bad Brains, The Breeders, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Fleet Foxes, Yo-Yo Ma and Bobby McFerrin, Suzanne Vega, Dinosaur Jr., Buffalo Tom, 10,000 Maniacs, Jack DeJohnette, Joe Jackson, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Sunny Day Real Estate, The Connells among many others, and more recently The National, Parquet Courts, Jack and Amanda Palmer, Beach House, Kurt Vile and many more. Hurley, New York
Hurley is a town in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 6,178 at the 2020 census. The town is in the northeastern part of the county, west of the city of Kingston. Much of the town is inside the Catskill Park. Located within the town is a hamlet and census-designated place, also named Hurley. Jack DeJohnette (born August 9, 1942) is an American jazz drummer, pianist, and composer. Jerome David Marotta (born February 6, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American drummer who resides in Woodstock, New York. He is the younger brother of Rick Marotta, who is also a drummer and composer. Kurt Samuel Vile (born January 3, 1980) is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He is known for his solo work and as the former lead guitarist of rock band the War on Drugs. Parquet Courts is an American rock band from New York City. The band consists of Andrew Savage (vocals, guitar), Austin Brown (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Sean Yeaton (bass, vocals), and Max Savage (drums). Sunny Day Real Estate is an American emo/indie rock band from Seattle, formed in 1992. The band currently consists of founding members Jeremy Enigk (vocals, guitar), Dan Hoerner (guitar) and William Goldsmith (drums), alongside Greg Suran (guitar), who originally played with the band between 2000 and 2001, and Chris Jordan (bass), who joined the band in 2022.
