''Dreamland'' is a 2022 studio album by American musician Amos Lee. Reception Editors at AllMusic rated this album 3.5 out of 5 stars, with critic Matt Collar writing that this music offers "a soulful musical balm for a troubled world" that "is relaxed in tone, pitched at the speed of early afternoon sun streaming through an open window". In ''American Songwriter'', Lee Zimmerman gave this album 4 out of 5 stars, calling it a "decidedly telling narrative, one that details a journey to discovery" that "echoes the notion that an empathic attitude can allow us all to sleep a little more soundly". Writing for '' No Depression'', Matt Conner summed up his review that "Lee bares is emotional scarsfor all to hear, and the album is somehow made all the more beautiful for it". Amos Lee
Amos Lee (born Ryan Anthony Massaro, June 20, 1977) is an American singer-songwriter whose musical style encompasses folk, rock, and soul. He was born in Philadelphia and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in English. After working as a schoolteacher and bartender he began to pursue a career in music. His manager Bill Eib, an artist manager and new artist development agent, submitted a demo recording to Blue Note Records which resulted in a recording contract and association with singer Norah Jones. Since that time Lee has recorded five albums on Blue Note Records and has toured as an opening act for Norah Jones, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Paul Simon, Merle Haggard, Van Morrison, John Prine, Dave Matthews Band, Adele, the Zac Brown Band, Jack Johnson, The Avett Brothers, and David Gray. WBUR
WBUR-FM (90.9 FM) is a public radio station located in Boston, Massachusetts, owned by Boston University. It is the largest of three NPR member stations in Boston, along with WGBH and WUMB-FM and produces several nationally distributed programs, including ''On Point'', '' Here and Now'' and ''Open Source.'' WBUR previously produced ''Car Talk'', '' Only a Game'', and '' The Connection'' (which was cancelled on August 5, 2005). ''RadioBoston'', launched in 2007, is its only purely local show. Mastering, a form of audio post production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master), the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). In recent years digital masters have become usual, although analog masters—such as audio tapes—are still being used by the manufacturing industry, particularly by a few engineers who specialize in analog mastering. Mastering requires critical listening; however, software tools exist to facilitate the process. Results depend upon the intent of the engineer, the skills of the engineer, the accuracy of the speaker monitors, and the listening environment. Stephen Marcussen is the founder and chief mastering engineer at Marcussen Mastering in Hollywood, California, United States. He has been mastering music since 1979. Biography Marcussen's introduction to music recording happened in 1976 when, at the age of 19, he was offered a janitor position at Studio 55, record producer Richard Perry's Los Angeles recording studio. At Studio 55, Marcussen received an education in all facets of music recording and sound production. By the end of his Studio 55 tenure, he had earned his first album credits as an assistant engineer, working on The Manhattan Transfer's ''Pastiche'', Boz Scaggs's ''Middle Man'', and The Pointer Sisters's ''Special Things''.
