''Dreamcar'' is the eponymous debut album by American band Dreamcar. It was released on May 12, 2017 through PLOF, LLC, a branch of Columbia Records. The album contained two singles, "Kill for Candy" and "All of the Dead Girls". Singles The album's lead single, "Kill for Candy", was released on March 2, 2017. Along with the announcement of the album, promotional single "Born to Lie" was released on April 7 of the same year. The second promotional single, "All of the Dead Girls", was released on April 14. Dreamcar (stylized as DREAMCAR) is an American new wave supergroup from Los Angeles, California. Background and musical style When news first broke of Davey Havok working with No Doubt members, many believed he would be replacing Gwen Stefani as the singer of that band. In an interview, Havok clarified that this was not the case. "I'm not singing for No Doubt," he said. He did admit that the band "have a lot of great songs. We have songs that are fully complete. And, it's just a great time. It's really fun. I think people will really like it." Havok also stated the band's overall style has an "'80s vibe". Scheila Gonzalez (born August 5, 1971 in Los Angeles, California) is an American, Grammy winning multi-instrumentalist and music educator. She is best known for playing the saxophone and other instruments in the all-female Sherrie Maricle, DIVA Jazz Orchestra and with artists such as Dweezil Zappa, Alex Acuña, Ray Parker Jr. and many others. Formerly a full-time member of the Zappa Plays Zappa world tour, since 2019 Gonzalez has been touring with Colin Hay as part of a revived and revamped Men at Work lineup, where she sings and plays the alto saxophone as well as several other instruments.
