Dream Car Garage
Dream Car Garage was a weekly television show produced by Westward Wind Productions for 11 seasons between 2002 and 2012. The series was produced in Halton Hills, Ontario. Its host was Peter Klutt, a car enthusiast and the owner of Legendary Motorcar Ltd., where many of the vehicles featured in the show came from. From 2002 to 2008 Klutt's co-host was motor journalist and race announcer Tom Hnatiw, who was famous for the phrase "''Do you need a car like this? No. Do you want a car like this???''" He was succeeded in 2009 by television personality Michelle Jobin, primarily known as Global News weather presenter, for two seasons. Jobin's successor from 2011 to 2012 was comedian Marni Van Dyk. The Canadian racing driver Ron Fellows was an occasional guest co-host from 2008 to 2010. Chevrolet Corvette
The Chevrolet Corvette is a two-door, two-passenger luxury sports car manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet since 1953. With eight design generations, noted sequentially from C1 to C8, the Corvette is noted for its performance and distinctive fiberglass or composite panels. It was front-engined through 2019 and mid-engined since. The Corvette is currently the only two-seat sports car produced by a major United States auto manufacturer and it serves as Chevrolet's halo vehicle. In 1953, GM executives accepted a suggestion by Myron Scott, then the assistant director of the Public Relations department, to name the company's new sports car after the corvette, a small maneuverable warship. AMC AMX
The AMC AMX is a two-seat GT-style muscle car produced by American Motors Corporation from 1968 through 1970. As one of just two American-built two-seaters, the AMX was in direct competition with the one-inch (2.5 cm) longer wheelbase Chevrolet Corvette, for substantially less money. It was based on the new-for-1968 Javelin, but with a shorter wheelbase and deletion of the rear seat. In addition, the AMX's rear quarter windows remained fixed, making it a coupe, while the Javelin was a true two-door hardtop. Fitted with the standard high-compression or optional AMC V8 engine, the AMX offered top-notch performance at an affordable price. In spite of this value and enthusiastic initial reception by automotive media and enthusiasts, sales never thrived. The Ford 385 engine family (also code-named "Lima") is a series of big block V8 engines designed by Ford Motor Company. Produced from 1968 to 1998, the Lima engines replaced the MEL engine entirely, along with multiple engines of the medium-block FE engine family; in truck applications, the engines succeeded the much larger Super Duty family. The Lima engines were used across multiple applications in North America. In cars, the engines saw use by all three Ford divisions in full-size cars, intermediates, personal luxury cars, and muscle cars. The Gran Sport name has been used on several high-performance cars built by General Motors for its Buick brand since 1965. The Oldsmobile 4-4-2 (also known as the 442) is a muscle car produced by Oldsmobile between the 1964 and 1987 model years. Introduced as an option package for US-sold F-85 and Cutlass models, it became a model in its own right from 1968 to 1971, spawned the Hurst/Olds in 1968, then reverted to an option through the mid-1970s. The name was revived in the 1980s on the rear-wheel drive Cutlass Supreme and early 1990s as an option package for the new front-wheel drive Cutlass Calais. The Pontiac GTO is an automobile that was manufactured by American automaker Pontiac from 1963 to 1974 for the 1964 to 1974 model years, and by GM's subsidiary Holden in Australia for the 2004 to 2006 model years. The Chevrolet Chevelle is a mid-sized automobile that was produced by Chevrolet in three generations for the 1964 through 1978 model years. Part of the General Motors (GM) A-body platform, the Chevelle was one of Chevrolet's most successful nameplates. Body styles included coupes, sedans, convertibles, and station wagons. Tom Hnatiw
Thomas Gregory Michael Hnatiw (pronounced "Na-chew"; December 13, 1958 – 30 July 2012, in Oakville, Ontario, Canada) was a Canadian motor journalist and live motor race announcer. Tom Hnatiw was best known as co-presenter of the TV show Dream Car Garage on Speed Channel alongside Peter Klutt from 2000 to 2008. There he was famous for the phrase ''"Do you ''need'' a car like this? No. Do you ''want'' a car like this???"'' Further he was involved with the programmes ''Hard Drive'' and ''Sports Car Revolution''. He was the founder and owner of the ''Internal Combustion Group'', a television production company based around automotive programming. Altogether he was involved in the production of over 500 shows related to the automotive world and co-owner of a 5000 square-foot race shop.
