Dream, Fulfilled
Danny!'s second instrumental hip hop album, ''Dream, Fulfilled'', was released on April 23, 2007 (see 2007 in music) under the American rapper/producer's 1911 Music/Badenov Records imprint. The record is a sequel to Danny's 2006 instrumental album '' Dream, Interrupted'' and, like its predecessor, was initially released under Danny's birth name ( Daniel Swain) solely in the United Kingdom for reasons still undetermined. The album cover, as well as the tray card and artwork contained within the liner notes, features various photographs of Ugandan youth. Overview ''Dream, Fulfilled'', like ''Dream, Interrupted'' before it, begins with an excerpt from "Cry Of A Dreamer" by The Sylvers. The album's tagline -- "23 years. 23 ''more'' beats. One man. One hour. One destiny."—also bears similarities to that of ''Dream, Interrupted''. The Spinners (American R&B Group)
The Spinners are an American rhythm and blues vocal group that formed in Ferndale, Michigan, United States, in 1954. They enjoyed a string of hit singles and albums during the 1960s and 1970s, particularly with producer Thom Bell. The group continues to tour, with Henry Fambrough as the only original member. The group is also listed as the Detroit Spinners and the Motown Spinners, due to their 1960s recordings with the Motown label. Astrud Gilberto (; born Astrud Evangelina Weinert, March 29, 1940) is a Brazilian samba and bossa nova singer. She gained international attention in the 1960s following her recording of the song "The Girl from Ipanema". Biography Astrud Gilberto was born Astrud Evangelina Weinert, the daughter of a Brazilian mother and a German father, in the state of Bahia, Brazil. She was raised in Rio de Janeiro. Her father was a language professor, and she became fluent in several languages. She married João Gilberto in 1959 and had a son, João Marcelo Gilberto, who later joined her band. Astrud and João divorced in the mid-1960s. She has another son from a second marriage, Gregory Lasorsa, who also played with his mother. ''Dream, Extinguished'' is an instrumental hip hop album by American producer/rapper Danny! It is the third and allegedly final installment in Danny's famed ''Dream...'' instrumental series and, like its predecessors, bears Danny's anthroponym on its cover—an ominous all-black sleeve—rather than his stage name in an effort to distinguish himself from Daniel Swain the record producer and Danny!, his rapper alter ego. Originally intended for an April release, ''Dream, Extinguished''s date was moved forward to January 29 to compensate for the unforeseen delay of '' And I Love H.E.R.'', his fifth studio album. Bossa nova () is a style of samba developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is mainly characterized by a "different beat" that altered the harmonies with the introduction of unconventional chords and an innovative syncopation of traditional samba from a single rhythmic division. The "bossa nova beat" is characteristic of a samba style and not of an autonomous genre. Originally slated for an October 12 release date, ''The College Kicked-Out'' finally saw the light of day on November 2 after being delayed by bootlegging. Overview Both the album's cover art and title are a tongue-in-cheek reference to the 2003 grade-altering controversy at Claflin University that resulted in Danny! being accused of not only orchestrating the entire operation, but of accumulating a substantial amount of money from tampering with the institution's academic records; Danny! was subsequently expelled. ''The College Kicked-Out'' was just twelve days shy of being released an approximate year after Danny!'s expulsion from the university.
