Dragoș Tudorache
Dragoș Tudorache (born 14 January 1975) is a Romanian politician of USR PLUS/USR who has been serving as a Member of the European Parliament since 2019. Early career From 2000, Tudorache worked as the coordinator of analysis team in the Department of Rule of Law and Protection of Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Pristina. Between 2003 and 2005 he served as the Head of the Legal Department of the UN team of International Judges at the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK). From 2005 until 2007, Tudorache worked at the Delegation of the European Commission in Bucharest, where he was responsible for legal and anti-corruption issues. In 2007 he joined the European Commission's Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs in Brussels. USR PLUS
USR PLUS was a Romanian progressive, liberal, and centrist political alliance active between 2019 and 2021. Established on 2 February 2019 solely as an electoral alliance between the political parties Save Romania Union (USR) and the Freedom, Unity and Solidarity Party (PLUS) it was initially called 2020 USR-PLUS Alliance ( ro, Alianța 2020 USR-PLUS). The alliance was formed to participate together in the May 2019 European Parliament election in Romania. Subsequently, the two parties decided to sign a protocol for a political alliance for the 2019 Romanian presidential election and for the 2020 local and legislative elections as well. The alliance was dissolved when the two parties formally merged after a successful vote during an online congress on 15 August 2020 and the approval of this event by the Court of Appeal of Bucharest on 16 April 2021. The Cioloș Cabinet was the 125th Government of Romania. It was led by Dacian Cioloș, who was appointed Prime Minister of Romania on 10 November 2015, after the resignation of Victor Ponta amid mass protests against generalised corruption linked to the Colectiv nightclub fire. Spyware
Spyware (a portmanteau for spying software) is software with malicious behaviour that aims to gather information about a person or organization and send it to another entity in a way that harms the user—for example, by violating their privacy or endangering their device's security. Pegasus (spyware)
Pegasus is spyware developed by the Israeli cyber-arms company NSO Group that can be covertly installed on mobile phones (and other devices) running most versions of iOS and Android. Pegasus is able to exploit iOS versions up to 14.7, through a zero-click exploit. As of 2022, Pegasus was capable of reading text messages, tracking calls, collecting passwords, location tracking, accessing the target device's microphone and camera, and harvesting information from apps. The spyware is named after Pegasus, the winged horse of Greek mythology. It is a Trojan horse computer virus that can be sent "flying through the air" to infect cell phones. Pegasus was discovered in August 2016 after a failed installation attempt on the iPhone of a human rights activist led to an investigation revealing details about the spyware, its abilities, as well as the security vulnerabilities it exploited. European Parliament
The European Parliament (EP) is one of the legislative bodies of the European Union and one of its seven institutions. A rapporteur is a person who is appointed by an organization to report on the proceedings of its meetings. The term is a French-derived word. The 2019 European Parliament election was held between 23 and 26 May 2019, the ninth parliamentary election since the first direct elections in 1979. A total of 751 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) represent more than 512 million people from 28 member states.
