Dragons Rhöndorf
Dragons Rhoendorf is a professional basketball club based in Bad Honnef, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The team had its most successful years from 1995 to 1999 when it played in the Basketball Bundesliga and reached the semi-finals in 1999. Since then, the club has voluntarily moved down to the third highest national division, Pro B, where the Dragons still compete today. History Beginning years (1912–1995) The team started out as ''Rhöndorfer TV''. Alternating path between ProA and Pro B (1995–2010) In 1995, the then called ''TV Tatami Rhöndorf'' team moved up from the second League north to the Basketball Bundesliga, Germany's prime basketball league. In 1999, the licensed was transferred to the Skyliners Frankfurt while Rhöndorf used the license it gained from EnBW Ludwigsburg and stayed in the 2nd league. ProB
The ProB is the third-tier level league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 24 teams, separated into a Northern and a Southern Division. Officially, the ProB is part of the ''2. Basketball Bundesliga'', which consists of the two hierarchical leagues ''ProA'' and ''ProB''. Before the 2007–08 season, the ''2. Basketball Bundesliga'' was a basketball league with the same name, which consisted of two geographical divisions. At the end of the league stage, the winning team of the playoffs in each division, qualify for the ProA, and the teams positioned in 9th place and lower, fight in the play-downs, for the whereabouts in the league. Yassin Idbihi
Yassin Markus Idbihi (born July 24, 1983) is a former Moroccan-German professional basketball player. Idbihi spent the majority of his career in Germany and played one season in France for Limoges CSP. Professional career He made his professional debut with Dragons Rhöndorf. He then played college basketball at the Buffalo Bulls men's basketball, University at Buffalo. After that he returned to Germany and first played for Köln 99ers, then one season in French LNB Pro B, Pro B with Limoges CSP and later for Phantoms Braunschweig and Alba Berlin. In July 2013, he signed a two-year deal with FC Bayern Munich (basketball), Bayern Munich. In July 2015, he signed a two-year deal with Brose Bamberg. After the 2016–17 season, Idbihi retired and instead joined the staff of Brose Bamberg. Klaus Perwas (born 8 March 1971) is a German former basketball player and assistant coach. Playing career In the late 80s, Perwas was considered as a major talent as he capped for Germany's junior national teams on many occasion. His final breakthrough happened when he joined the Baskets Bonn in 1995. There, as the team's playmaker, he became a member of the German national basketball team. Altogether, Perwas played professional basketball for the German teams SG Bramsche-Osnabrück (1992–94), SSV Ulm 1846 (1994–1995) and Telekom Baskets Bonn (1995–1999). Joseph Whelton (born February 15, 1956) is an American professional basketball coach. He played at the University of Connecticut and has spent most of his coaching career overseas. Career A native of East Hartford, Connecticut, Whelton played at the University of Connecticut from 1974 to 1978. He began his coaching career at Wethersfield High School, followed by a stint as assistant coach at the University of Hartford men’s basketball team.
