Dragonlance (board Game)
''Dragonlance'' is a fantasy board game published by TSR in 1988 that is based upon the fantasy role-playing campaign setting '' Dragonlance'', also published by TSR. Contents ''Dragonlance'' is a game for 2-6 players, in which each player uses their team of dragons to enter a forbidden tower and be the first to get the Dragonlance and return it to their home base. Components The board comes with a mounted hex grid map board. In the center is a plastic tower surrounded by six gates, each a different color. There are six dragon teams in six colors, as well as a large quantity of white plastic bases, used to indicate a dragon's altitude. There are also a deck of cards and several ten-sided dice. Basic game The active player rolls a ten-sided die for movement points, which can then be used to move forward, as well as to gain or lose altitude. TSR (company)
TSR, Inc. was an American game publishing company, best known as the original publisher of ''Dungeons & Dragons'' (''D&D''). Its earliest incarnation, Tactical Studies Rules, was founded in October 1973 by Gary Gygax and Don Kaye. Gygax had been unable to find a publisher for ''D&D'', a new type of game he and Dave Arneson were co-developing, so founded the new company with Kaye to self-publish their products. Needing financing to bring their new game to market, Gygax and Kaye brought in Brian Blume in December as an equal partner. ''Dungeons & Dragons'' is generally considered the first tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG), and established the genre. When Kaye died suddenly in 1975, the Tactical Studies Rules partnership restructured into TSR Hobbies, Inc. and accepted investment from Blume's father Melvin. Scott Haring
Scott D. Haring is a game designer who has worked primarily on role-playing games. Career Scott Haring began working in the adventure gaming industry in 1982. Haring had a long career with Steve Jackson Games, having worked at the company five different times over a period of 15 years. Haring has worked as the ''Car Wars'' line editor, and became editor on the new magazine '' Autoduel Quarterly'' when it debuted in 1983. He also wrote and edited for ''Ghostbusters'' and ''GURPS'' and served as the editor for ''Pyramid'' magazine. He has been a columnist for '' Comics & Games Retailer'' since 1987. X-Wing (video Game Series)
The X-wing starfighter is a name applied to a family of fictional spacecraft manufactured by the Incom Corporation from the ''Star Wars'' franchise. Named for the distinctive shape made when its s-foils (wings) are in attack position, the X-wing was a class of starfighter used by the Rebel Alliance in their conflict with the Galactic Empire. It made its theatrical debut, as the T-65B model, in ''Star Wars'' (1977) as the spacecraft piloted by Luke Skywalker and the Red Squadron when Luke destroyed the Death Star. ''Dragon'' is one of the two official magazines for source material for the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' role-playing game and associated products, along with ''Dungeon (magazine), Dungeon''. TSR, Inc. originally launched the monthly printed magazine in 1976 to succeed the company's earlier publication, ''The Strategic Review''. The final printed issue was #359 in September 2007. Dobson (born September 9, 1952 in Charlotte, North Carolina) is an American author in the fields of business (particularly office politics and project management), alternate history novels (relating to World War II) and role-playing game adventures (''Dungeons & Dragons'', ''Indiana Jones'', and ''Buck Rogers XXVC''). Early life Dobson's family moved from North Carolina to Germany when he was a child; his father had spent the latter part of World War II in a POW camp and had grown adjusted to German hospitality. ''Dragonlance'' is a shared universe created by Laura and Tracy Hickman, and expanded by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis under the direction of TSR, Inc. into a series of fantasy novels. The Hickmans conceived ''Dragonlance'' while driving in their car on the way to TSR for a job interview. Margaret Edith Weis (; born March 16, 1948) is an American fantasy and science fiction author, of dozens of novels and short stories. At TSR, Inc., she teamed with Tracy Hickman to create the ''Dragonlance'' role-playing game (RPG) world. She is founding CEO and owner of Sovereign Press, Inc and Margaret Weis Productions, licensing several popular television and movie franchises to make RPG series in addition to their own.
