Dragonframe
Dragonframe is stop motion animation software. It has been used to make several full-length motion picture films, including Disney's '' Frankenweenie'' and Laika's ''Coraline'', ''The Boxtrolls'', and ''ParaNorman'', as well as the stop motion television show ''Shaun the Sheep''. It has also been used to shoot stop motion scenes in live action movies, including the holochess scene in '' Star Wars: The Force Awakens'', and numerous stop motion shorts. History Dragonframe was initially developed by brothers Jamie and Dyami Caliri while they were creating a commercial for United Airlines called "The Dragon". It was later developed into a commercial product, marketed by DZED Systems. Jamie Caliri
Jamie Caliri (born February 22, 1970 in Buffalo, New York) is an American director, known primarily for music videos, television commercials and title sequences. Between 1988 and 1992, he studied film, design, and animation at the California Institute of the Arts. He is also a self-taught still photographer. He has been signed to production companies Acme Filmworks (ca. 1992–ca. 1994), Duck Soup Studios (1994–1995) and its division The Front (1995–1997), MJZ and its satellite Stimmung (1997–ca. 1999), and to Windmill Lane and its subsidiary Pusher (2003–ca. 2005). He has directed commercials for Children's Medical Center (Dallas) (2010), Fruitopia (1997), KCRW (1996), Pier 1 Imports, and United Airlines (2006 and 2008), among others. In 2006, he was asked to explore animation concepts for a feature film adaptation of ''The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay''. Shaun The Sheep
''Shaun the Sheep'' is a British stop-motion television series and a spin-off of the ''Wallace and Gromit'' franchise. The title character is Shaun (previously featured as the sheep named "Shaun" in the 1995 short film ''A Close Shave'' and the ''Shopper 13'' short film from the 2002 ''Wallace and Gromit's Cracking Contraptions'' series). The series focuses on his adventures on a northern English farm as the leader of his flock. Animation Software
Computer animation is the process used for digitally generating animations. The more general term computer-generated imagery (CGI) encompasses both static scenes (still images) and dynamic images (moving images), while computer animation refers to moving images. Modern computer animation usually uses 3D computer graphics to generate a three-dimensional picture. The target of the animation is sometimes the computer itself, while other times it is film. The Annie Awards are accolades which the Los Angeles branch of the International Animated Film Association, ASIFA-Hollywood, has presented each year since 1972 to recognize excellence in animation shown in cinema and television. Originally designed to celebrate lifetime or career contributions to animation, the award has been given to individual works since 1992. Membership in ASIFA-Hollywood is divided into three main categories: General Member (for professionals), Patron (for enthusiasts of animation), and Student Member. Ub Iwerks
Ubbe Ert Iwwerks (March 24, 1901 – July 7, 1971), known as Ub Iwerks ( ), was an American animator, cartoonist, character designer, inventor, and special effects technician. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Iwerks grew up with a contentious relationship with his father, who abandoned him as a child. Iwerks met fellow artist Walt Disney while working at a Kansas City art studio in 1919. After briefly working as illustrators for a local newspaper company, Disney and Iwerks ventured into animation together. Iwerks joined Disney as chief animator on the Laugh-O-Gram shorts series beginning in 1922, but a studio bankruptcy would cause Disney to relocate to Los Angeles in 1923. In the new studio, Iwerks continued to work with Disney on the Alice Comedies as well as the creation of the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit character.
