Dragan Travica
Dragan Travica (born 28 August 1986) is an Italian volleyball player, former member of the Italy men's national volleyball team. On club level he plays for Olympiacos Piraeus, bronze medalist at the 2012 Olympic Games, silver medalist at the European Championship ( 2011, 2013), bronze medalist of the World League (2013, 2014) and Italian Champion (2012). Personal life He was born in Zagreb, Croatia, the son of Serbian volleyball player and coach Ljubomir Travica. His sister is the wife of another Italian volleyball player Cristian Savani. Career He started his career with Sisley Treviso's youth team and, after one year with Sira Cucine Falconara, he debuted in the Serie A1 (Italy's top division) in 2004 with Kerakoll Modena. In 2005-2006 he played in the Serie A2 at Crema, obtaining the promotion to Serie A1 and winning the award as best Under-23 player in the category. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. FIVB World League
The FIVB Volleyball World League was an annual international men's volleyball competition. Created in 1990, it was the longest and richest of all the international events organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The women's version of the competition was called FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix. This event should not be confused with the other international volleyball competitions, the World Championship, the World Cup and the World Grand Champions Cup. From 2018, the World League and World Grand Prix was replaced by the men's and women's Nations League and men's and women's Challenger Cup. Olympiacos Men's Volleyball ( el, Ολυμπιακός, ), commonly referred to as Olympiacos, Olympiacos Piraeus or with its full name as Olympiacos CFP, is the men's volleyball department of the major Greek multi-sport club, Olympiacos CFP, based in Piraeus, Attica. The Italy men's national volleyball team represents the country in international competitions and friendly matches. Men's European Volleyball Championship
The Men's European Volleyball Championship (''EuroVolley'') is the official competition for senior men's national volleyball teams of Europe, organized by the European Volleyball Confederation ( CEV). The initial gap between championships was variable, but since 1975 they have been awarded every two years. The current champion is Italy, which won its seventh title at the 2021 tournament. History The first tournament was held in 1948 with participation of six national teams. Being only participant from Eastern Europe, Czechoslovakia captured gold. The teams from Eastern Europe dominated at the tournament for next four decades.
