Draga Stamejčič
Draga Stamejčič ( sl, Драга Стамејчић, 27 February 1937 – August 2015) was a Slovenian athlete who competed at the 1960 and 1964 Olympics. In 1960 she was eliminated in the heats of the 80 m hurdles event. Two weeks before the 1964 Games she set a world record in the hurdles, but at the Olympics finished only seventh due to a knee injury. She also finished fifth in the pentathlon. The knee injury required an extensive operation and resulted in her retirement around mid-1960s. She married, gave birth to twins and devoted herself to the family. Ljubljana
Ljubljana (also known by other historical names) is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. It is the country's cultural, educational, economic, political and administrative center. During antiquity, a Roman city called Emona stood in the area. Ljubljana itself was first mentioned in the first half of the 12th century. Situated at the middle of a trade route between the northern Adriatic Sea and the Danube region, it was the historical capital of Carniola, one of the Slovene-inhabited parts of the Habsburg monarchy. It was under Habsburg rule from the Middle Ages until the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918. It started out as a monthly print magazine published in Ljubljana, Slovenia, between 2003 and 2020, when it became an online-only publication. The magazine was published quarterly by Domus d.o.o. and provided news on the Slovene society concerning business and social topics, culture, sports, with a special reference to economy. Slovenian Athletes Hall Of Fame
The Slovenian Athletes Hall of Fame (slovene: "''Hram slavnih slovenskih športnikov''") was founded in 2011 by the Society of Slovenian Sports Journalists (''Društvo športnih novinarjev Slovenije'') and includes best Slovenian athletes of all time from different sport disciplines. This hall will be in function in 2012. At Slovenian Sportsperson of the Year event in December 2011 they inducted the first two Slovenian athletes, Leon Štukelj and Miro Cerar. For more than a year and half, the Society of Slovenian Sports Journalists was preparing for the foundation of the "Slovenian Athletes Hall of Fame". They did this with one goal, to keep Slovenian athletes with great international results alive in our minds.
