Dr Foster Intelligence is a provider of healthcare information in the United Kingdom, monitoring the performance of the National Health Service and providing information to the public. Denise Anne Lievesley is a British social statistician. She has formerly been Chief Executive of the English Information Centre for Health and Social Care, Director of Statistics at UNESCO, in which capacity she founded the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, and Director (1991–1997) of what is now the UK Data Archive (known as the ESRC Data Archive and as the Data Archive during her tenure). Brian Jarman
Sir Brian Jarman (born 9 July 1933) is a retired English physician and academic. He was professor of primary health care from 1983 to 1998 at Imperial College School of Medicine and president of the British Medical Association from 2003 to 2004. The Hospital Standardised Mortality Ratio (HSMR) methodology was developed by Jarman, director of the Dr Foster Unit at Imperial College, London. This method was applied by Dr Foster Intelligence.
