Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School
Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School is a Catholic secondary school located in the Hillsdale neighbourhood of south Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. It is a part of Regina Catholic Schools. Opened February 1, 1976, it replaced the nearby girls' and boys' separate schools. It was named after Martin LeBoldus, former provincial coroner and longtime trustee of the Regina Catholic school system. The school serves students from most of the neighbourhoods in the central, south and east communities of Regina. It also offers a dual track French immersion program. There are six feeder schools: Deshaye Catholic School, Holy Rosary School, St. Elizabeth School, St. Kateri Tekakwitha School, St. Matthew School, and St. Pius X School. Simon Bairu
Simon Bairu (born 8 August 1983) is a Canadian long-distance runner. Early life Bairu was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to an Ethiopian mother and an Eritrean father. He grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada where his family moved to when he was three years old. Career Bairu attended Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School, where he flourished as a provincial and then national level track and field athlete. He then attended the University of Wisconsin where he was guided by coach Jerry Schumacher to win two NCAA cross-country titles. As a post-collegiate, Bairu moved to Portland, Oregon to train with the Bowerman Track Club, a professional athletics group founded by Schumacher that was originally formed primarily by Wisconsin teammates, such as Chris Solinsky, Matt Tegenkamp, Evan Jager and Tim Nelson. Alexandra Wrubleski
Alexandra "Alex" Wrubleski (born 31 May 1984) is a Canadian retired professional road cyclist. She has awarded three Canadian championship titles in both road race and time trial, and later represented her nation Canada at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Wrubleski also raced for the United States' Webcor Builders Cycling Team, before she took a wide sporting break at the end of 2010 season. Professional career Wrubleski was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and attended Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School. Paul Woldu (born September 14, 1984) is a former professional Canadian football cornerback. He was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in the fifth round of the 2008 CFL Draft where he spent four years with the team. He played CIS football for the Saskatchewan Huskies football team. Mark Lee McMorris (born December 9, 1993) is a Canadian professional snowboarder who specializes in slopestyle and big air events. A three-time Olympic bronze medallist, he placed third in each of the 2014 Winter Olympics, 2018 Winter Olympics, and 2022 Winter Olympics in the slopestyle event. While filming for Transworld Snowboarding's "Park Sessions" video in March 2011, Mark became the first person to land a Backside Triple Cork 1440. Lynn Kanuka-Williams ( Kanuka; born July 11, 1960) is a Canadian athlete from Regina, Saskatchewan. She competed in 3000m races, as well as a smaller number of 1500m races. French immersion is a form of bilingual education in which students who do not speak French as a first language will receive instruction in French.
