Dougie Johnstone
Douglas Johnstone (born 12 March 1969 in Irvine, North Ayrshire) is a Scottish footballer. He played professionally as a central defender before retiring and becoming a teacher at various schools around North Ayrshire, including the now demolished St Matthews Academy in Saltcoats. He teaches Mathematics up to an Advanced Higher level and is qualified to teach Computing. He most famously played for Greenock Morton Greenock Morton Football Club is a Scottish professional football club, which plays in the Scottish Championship. Kevin Finlayson
Kevin Charles Finlayson (born 7 December 1979 in Glasgow) is a Scottish former footballer that is assistant manager for Kirkintilloch Rob Roy. Throughout his career he played for five clubs in the Scottish Football League, before turning Junior in 2011 and having a two-year spell in the US with Kitsap Pumas between 2014 and 2016. Career Finlayson started his career at Queen's Park where he progressed from the Boys club through to become a regular in the first team playing over 50 games before turning professional with Ross County. Only playing about a dozen games with ''the Staggies'', Finlayson was loaned back to Queen's Park before re-signing for them permanently in 2000. Allan Jenkins (born 7 October 1981 in Stranraer) is a Scottish professional footballer who last played for Dalbeattie Star. Jenkins started his career at home town club Stranraer where he played for eight years, he spent a two-year spell at the now defunct "big spenders" Gretna in the SPL before ending his time in Scotland with Greenock Morton. He is perhaps best known for his time at Ballymena United. At all his senior clubs, Jenkins has been the captain on at least one occasion. Saltcoats
Saltcoats ( gd, Baile an t-Salainn) is a town on the west coast of North Ayrshire, Scotland. The name is derived from the town's earliest industry when salt was harvested from the sea water of the Firth of Clyde, carried out in small cottages along the shore. It is part of the 'Three Towns' conurbation along with Ardrossan and Stevenston and is the third largest town in North Ayrshire. History In the late eighteenth century, several shipyards operated at Saltcoats, producing some sixty to seventy ships. The leading shipbuilder was William Ritchie, but in 1790 he moved his business to Belfast. By the early nineteenth century, the town had stopped producing ships.
