Doug Whitsett
Doug Whitsett (born March 24, 1943) is an American politician who served in the Oregon State Senate from 2005 until 2017, representing District 28. He is a Republican and served on the Ways and Means Committee, the Ways and Means Public Safety subcommittee, the Emergency Board, the Judiciary Committee, and the Office of Administrative Hearings Oversight Committee. Whitsett represents the people of Klamath, Lake, and Crook counties, and of parts of both Jackson and Deschutes counties. He was elected in 2004 and won reelection in 2008. His wife Gail Whitsett was his chief of staff before being elected to Oregon House of Representatives. Early life On March 24, 1943, Whitsett was born in Monterey, California. Dennis Linthicum
Dennis Linthicum is an American Republican politician currently serving in the Oregon Senate. Early Life Linthicum, originally from California, attended Biola University, a private, evangelical Christian university in La Mirada, California. Career Linthicum graduated with a bachelors in economics from University of California, Los Angeles in 1978, and received his master's degree in Christian Apologetics from Biola University in 2009. He began a software developer career in California, working of Hughes Aircraft. Later, he was the senior vice president of management information systems at Lange Financial and again at Pacific Mutual Life Insurance. Linthicum, who is a supporter of the Tea Party movement, was elected to the Senate in 2016 to replace the retiring Doug Whitsett. The 28th district covers parts of south-central Oregon. Central Oregon Community College is a community college in Bend, Oregon. It primarily serves residents of Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook Counties. Additionally its district includes portions of Klamath, Lake, and Wasco counties. History Central Oregon Community College is the oldest two-year college in the state of Oregon. The college was originally founded in 1949 making it almost a decade older than Clatsop Community College, the next oldest Community College in Oregon. The main campus is located on the west side of Bend, Oregon on 200-acres. The campus has a total of 26 different buildings, the most recently built being the residence hall in 2015. The Oregon Legislative Assembly is the state legislature for the U.S. state of Oregon. The Legislative Assembly is bicameral, consisting of an upper and lower house: the Senate, whose 30 members are elected to serve four-year terms; and the House of Representatives, with 60 members elected to two-year terms. There are no term limits for either house in the Legislative Assembly. Warmbloods are a group of middle-weight horse types and breeds primarily originating in Europe and registered with organizations that are characterized by open studbook policy, studbook selection, and the aim of breeding for equestrian sport. Oregonians in Action (OIA) is an organization in Oregon, United States that seeks to reduce land use regulation. There are four legal entities that have used this name, but the one that is most active as of 2006 is the political action committee. Its committee number is 2793. It has existed since 1989, but gained prominence when it took over the campaign for Ballot Measure 7 in 2000. This group also backed Measure 37 in 2004 which—similar to Measure 7—required the government to reimburse property owners whose property value is negatively impacted by land use regulation.
