Doug Mason
Douglas Mason (born August 20, 1955) is a Canadian-Dutch professional ice hockey coach. He has been serving as head coach of the Graz 99ers in Austria since December 2016. His son Steve Mason is a professional ice hockey player. Playing career Born in Sudbury, Ontario, Mason played in the SOJHL, OHA and IHL. Mason made his way to the Netherlands in 1979, signing with the Tilburg Trappers. He played for the team for the rest of his career, which ended in 1988. Coaching career Mason’s coaching career began in 1989: In his first head coach role, he worked for Dutch team Langhout Utrecht for two years, guiding the club to winning the 1991 Eredivisie championship, and then would spend the 1991-92 season in the OHL, serving as assistant coach of the Sudbury Wolves. After shorts stints in Switzerland (SC Lyss) and Italy (Asiago Hockey), Mason returned to the Tilburg Trappers in 1993 and spent four years at the helm of the club. Krefeld Pinguine
The Krefeld Pinguine (Krefeld Penguins) are an ice hockey team in the DEL2. Their home ice is in Krefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany at the König Palast. Founded first in 1936 by Willi Münstermann, the pro team became a limited liability company in 1994 and joined the top tier Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Deutschland Cup
The Deutschland Cup is an in-season international ice hockey tournament hosted by the German Ice Hockey Federation which has been contested in most years since 1987. Early years (1987–1997) In 1987, the German Ice Hockey Federation created the Deutschland Cup as an official international tournament. Stuttgart served as a site for the first years of the tournament, with at least one game taking place in the Baden-Württemberg capital every year through 1996, except 1991, when the tournament was played at the Eissporthalle Frankfurt. Ulm, Bietigheim and Pforzheim in 1993 and Pforzheim and Neu-Ulm in 1994 also served as tournament sites. Over the years, the tournament format has changed frequently. Austrian Hockey League
The ICE Hockey League (International Central European Hockey League), known as the win2day ICE Hockey League for sponsorship reasons, is a Central European hockey league that also serves as the top-tier ice hockey league in Austria, it currently features additional teams from Hungary, Italy, and Slovenia. The league was known as the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (EBEL) from 2003 until 2020 and as the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League during the 2021-22 season. The Adler Mannheim (English: ''Mannheim Eagles'', formerly Mannheimer ERC) is a professional ice hockey team of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, the highest-level ice hockey league in Germany. The Kölner Haie (English: ''Cologne Sharks'') are an ice hockey club based in Cologne, Germany that plays in the professional Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). The team was one of the founding members of the DEL. The ''Kölner Haie'' play their home games in the DEL and the German Cup (DEB-Pokal) at the Lanxess Arena, which opened in 1998, located in the district Deutz.
