Doug Gabriel
Douglas Gabriel (born August 27, 1980) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the fifth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played college football at UCF. Gabriel was also a member of the New England Patriots, Cincinnati Bengals, Florida Tuskers, California Redwoods, and Sacramento Mountain Lions. Early years Gabriel attended Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida and was a letterman in football. As a senior, he won All-Conference and All-State honors as a wide receiver. College career Gabriel finalized his storied high school career but was academically unable to enroll at Miami (Fla.) or Oregon State or any large school where he was recruited. The regular season ran from September 18 to November 20 and featured five teams playing eight games each (twice against each of the other teams) over a 10-week span. The NFL Scouting Combine is a week-long showcase occurring every February at Lucas Oil Stadium (and formerly at the RCA Dome until 2008) in Indianapolis, where college football players perform physical and mental tests in front of National Football League coaches, general managers, and scouts.
