Doug Considine
Doug Considine (born 15 May 1957) is a Scottish former footballer. As a squad player he was a Scottish League winner at Aberdeen in 1980. A year later in 1981 he moved to Dunfermline Athletic in pursuit of first team football. Two seasons later he retired as a footballer aged 26. Playing career Doug Considine was born in Edinburgh in 1957. He joined Aberdeen from Highland League club Huntly in 1978 and spent three seasons at Pittodrie, where he was part of the team which won the Scottish Premier Division in 1980, playing fifteen times in the league that season. He left Aberdeen in 1981 to join Dunfermline, where he remained until 1983, when he retired aged 26. Banchory
Banchory (, sco, Banchry, gd, Beannchar) is a burgh or town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is about west of Aberdeen, near where the Feugh River meets the River Dee. Prehistory and archaeology In 2009, a farmer discovered a short cist burial to the east of the town. Archaeologists were called into excavate it and they found that it was a burial from the Beaker culture. Radiocarbon dating put the burial at sometime between 2330 and 2040 BC. Stable isotope analysis of the human remains indicated that he or she grew up on basalt geology, like that of the region, or on chalk, meaning they were either local or could have come from another place, like Yorkshire. Residue analysis of the Beaker pot found in the burial established that it had held either butter or milk. Andrew MacLaren Considine (born 1 April 1987) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a defender for Scottish Premiership club St Johnstone. He played over 550 times for Aberdeen across 18 years, ranking among the players with most appearances in their history, and three times for the Scotland national team. Considine left Aberdeen after the 2021–22 season and signed for St Johnstone. Drybrough Cup
The Drybrough Cup was a Scottish annual football tournament. It was held from 1971 until 1974, and was revived from 1979 to 1980. It was open to the four highest-scoring teams from Division 1, and the four highest-scoring teams from Division 2. The format allowed the tournament to have three rounds: first round, semi-final and final. The tournament was held in the week preceding the commencement of the league season. The tournament was conceived because the Scottish Football Association would not permit existing competitions to have a title sponsor. The Drybrough brewery got around this regulation by inventing a new competition bearing their name. In the 1972, 1973 and 1974 Drybrough Cups, an experimental version of the offside law was operated.
