Dotun Akinsanya
Dotun Akinsanya (born 20 January 1981) is a Nigerian badminton player. He won the silver medals in the men's doubles and mixed team event, also the bronze medal in the men's singles at the 2003 All-Africa Games. Akinsanya later captured the gold medal in 2007 All-Africa Games in the mixed team event. In 2002, he represented his country at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games. In 2003, he received a scholarship from the Olympic Solidarity's Youth Development Program with a partnership with International Badminton Federation, for preparations of talented youngsters for future Olympic Games, specifically the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Abuja () is the capital and eighth most populous city of Nigeria. Bauchi (earlier Yakoba) is a city in northeast Nigeria, the Administrative center of Bauchi State, of the Bauchi Local Government Area within that State, and of the traditional Bauchi Emirate. Johannes Kleingeld (born 10 June 1971) is a South African badminton player. He was the men's doubles champion at the African Championships in 1998 and 2004. Christoffel Cornelius Dednam (born 8 August 1983) is a badminton player from South Africa. Dednam was the gold medallists at the 2003 All-Africa Games in the mixed doubles event, and in 2007 in the men's doubles event. He competed at the 2004, 2008 Olympic Games, and at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Dednam played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's singles, losing in the round of 32 to Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand. He also competed in mixed doubles with partner Antoinette Uys.
