Iris is a Romanian rock band established in February 1977 by Ioan 'Nelu' Dumitrescu (drums), Ion 'Nuțu' Olteanu (lead solo guitar and vocals) and Emil Lechințeanu (bass guitar). They achieved success, followed by tours throughout Romania and recordings for radio broadcast. At the 2006 MTV Romania Music Awards, Iris won the Best Rock Award and were nominated for Best Band and Best Live Act. History Iris began in 1975-1976 with Emil Lechințeanu, Ioan 'Nelu' Dumitrescu and Ion 'Nuțu' Olteanu. Through the years, the band has experienced many line-up changes. In 45 years of activity, Iris became one of the biggest names in Romanian music history. Doru Davidovici
Doru Davidovici (; 1945–1989), was a Romanian aviator and writer. Born in a Romanian-Jewish family, Doru Davidovici became one of the most loved Romanian fiction writers in the 1980s. During the communist years, his books gave an unusual sense of liberty and new horizons by describing the experience of flying, and the closeness it forged – both between pilots, and between pilots and their machines. The plane is seen by Davidovici not simply as a machine that enables one to fly but as an actual character, with its own personality and almost with its own soul. His work is influenced by writers like Ray Bradbury, Radu Tudoran and Bertolt Brecht. The titles include ''The Horses of Voroneţ'' (1974), ''The Colour of the Sky'' (1981), ''Silver Wings'' (1983) and ''Rise and Walk'' (1989). Doru-Viorel Ursu (1 March 1953 – 14 April 2024) was a Romanian politician and lawyer. A member of the National Salvation Front (Romania), National Salvation Front (FSN), he was List of Romanian Ministers of the Interior, Minister of the Interior in the Petre Roman cabinets, carrying his mandate between the Mineriads of 1990 and 1991. Biography Born in Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Turnu Severin, Ursu graduated from the University of Bucharest's Faculty of Law, and later received his Doctor of Philosophy, PhD from the same institution.
