Dorothea Grimm
Dorothea Grimm (née Zimmer; November 20, 1755 – May 27, 1808) was the mother to the "Brothers Grimm" Jacob and Wilhelm, and seven other children, including Ludwig Emil Grimm and Charlotte Amalie Grimm. Early life and family Dorothea was born on November 20, 1755 in Kassel, Hesse, Germany, the daughter of Johann Hermann Zimmer, a Kassel city councilman and Anna Elisabeth Zimmer. On February 23, 1783, Dorothea married lawyer Philipp Wilhelm Grimm, with whom she had 8 sons and one daughter. Ludwig Emil Grimm
Ludwig Emil Grimm (14 March 1790 – 4 April 1863) was a German painter, art professor, etcher and copper engraver. Early life Grimm was born in Hanau, Germany, in 1790. His brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were folklorists. Education Grimm studies began at the Kunsthochschule Kassel and Philip Otto Runge, then from 1809 to 1817, he studied at Academy of Fine Arts Munich. In the 1814, he worked as an officer in the campaign against Napoleon. In 1816, he travelled to Italy where he learned engraving from Carl Ernst Christoph Hess and published his first work; a sketchbook of engravings based on his Italian journey. Career In 1819, Grimm contributed the frontispiece for the second edition of ''Kinder- und Hausmärchen'' (Grimm's Fairy Tales). The Brothers Grimm (film)
''The Brothers Grimm'' is a 2005 adventure fantasy film directed by Terry Gilliam. The film stars Matt Damon, Heath Ledger and Lena Headey in an exaggerated and fictitious portrait of the Brothers Grimm as traveling con-artists in French-occupied Germany, during the early 19th century. The brothers eventually encounter a genuine fairy tale curse which requires courage instead of their usual bogus exorcisms. Supporting characters are played by Peter Stormare, Jonathan Pryce and Monica Bellucci. In February 2001, Ehren Kruger sold his spec script to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM).
