Dorotas Wildcat
Dorotas Wildcat (whelped 1 May 2015) is a retired racing greyhound, trained by Kevin Hutton, known for winning the 2018 English Greyhound Derby. The same year, he was awarded the title of GBGB Greyhound of the Year. Early life Dorotas Wildcat was whelped in Kildare, County Kildare, Ireland, on 1 May 2015, out of Ballymac Vic and Droopys Danneel. The litter proved successful, with several of Dorotas Wildcat’s siblings also achieving notable wins, including Dorotas Woohoo, winner of the 2017 Scottish Derby and Forest Natalee, winner of the 2017 Irish Oaks. Racing career 2017 On 1 July, Dorotas Wildcat won the Star Sports Derby Plate final at Towcester. Scottish Greyhound Derby
The Scottish Greyhound Derby was an original classic greyhound competition held at Shawfield Stadium. Held at Carntyne Stadium from 1928 to 1968, after the closure of Carntyne the race appeared at Shawfield from 1970 until 1985. In 1988 the Greyhound Racing Association (GRA), moved the race to Powderhall Stadium in Edinburgh because they had the rights to the event and wanted it to take place at one of their tracks. After just two years it returned to Glasgow and Shawfield following the sale of Powderhall by the GRA. 2019 English Greyhound Derby
The 2019 Star Sports, ARC & LPS Greyhound Derby took place during May and June with the final being held on 29 June 2019 at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium. It was the first time that the event was held at Nottingham following the unexpected closure of Towcester Greyhound Stadium in 2018. The event was sponsored by Star Sports, ARC and LPS (Local Parking Security Services). The winner Priceless Blake won £100,000 and was trained by Paul Hennessy, owned by Bryan and Kathleen Murphy. English Greyhound Derby
The English Greyhound Derby is the most prestigious race on the British Greyhound racing in the United Kingdom, greyhound racing calendar, with a history stretching back to 1927. It was first held at White City Stadium, but moved to Wimbledon Stadium in 1985, and then Towcester Greyhound Stadium in 2017, Nottingham in 2019 and back to Towcester in 2021. Towcester Greyhound Stadium
Towcester Greyhound Stadium is a greyhound racing track located within Towcester Racecourse at Towcester in Northamptonshire, England. It has been the home of the English Greyhound Derby since 2021, having previously hosted the event from 2017 to 2018. Opening Towcester opened on 6 December 2014 becoming the first track in Britain to open since the 1995 openings of Harlow and Sittingbourne. The idea of a track inside the horse racing course was created by Lord Hesketh the racecourse owner and Chief Executive Kevin Ackerman. The Oaks is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Shelbourne Park. First held at Harold's Cross in 1930, the event was unofficial until 1932. Kevin Richard Hutton (born 1981) is an English greyhound trainer. He is a four times United Kingdom champion Champion Trainer and 2018 Derby winning trainer. Profile He currently runs out of Towcester Greyhound Stadium (which he rejoined in May 2021) and his kennels are based at Burford. Previously he was attached to Swindon Stadium then Towcester, the latter from when it opened in 2014 until 2018. Following the closure of Towcester he joined Monmore and was there from August 2018 until May 2021. His biggest individual race successes include the Oaks, Puppy Derby and the Select Stakes.
