Doran Isackson
Doran L. Isackson (March 26, 1938 – September 28, 1989) was a Republican Party of Minnesota, Republican politician from Minnesota and a Minnesota Senate, Minnesota State Senator. Elected in 1982, Isackson served one term from 1983 to 1987. He was unseated by Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, Democrat Jim Vickerman in the wave of Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, DFL victories that swept southwestern Minnesota in the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, DFL "Firestorm" of 1986. Alexandria, Minnesota
Alexandria is a city in and the county seat of Douglas County, Minnesota, United States. First settled in 1858, it was named after brothers Alexander and William Kinkead from Maryland. The form of the name alludes to Alexandria, Egypt, a center of learning and civilization. The village of Alexandria was incorporated February 20, 1877. Its city charter was adopted in 1908, and it was incorporated as a city in 1909. W. E. Hicks was pivotal to the town's early development. He purchased the townsite in 1868 and established a mill, hotel, newspaper, and store. He donated property for a courthouse, jail, and two churches: Methodist and Congregational. The population was 14,335 as of the 2020 census. Alexandria is near I-94, along Minnesota State Highways 27 and 29. It is ten miles south of Lake Carlos State Park. Redwood County is a county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census the population was 15,425. Its county seat is Redwood Falls, along the Redwood River near its confluence with the Minnesota River. The Lower Sioux Indian Reservation (also known as the Mdewakankton Tribal Reservation) is entirely within the county, along the southern bank of the Minnesota River in Paxton and Sherman townships. Workers' compensation or workers' comp is a form of insurance providing wage replacement and medical benefits to employees injured in the course of employment in exchange for mandatory relinquishment of the employee's right to sue his or her employer for the tort of negligence.
