Dora Gad
Dora Gad (Hebrew דורה גד; b. 1912, d. 31 December 2003) was an Israeli interior designer, whose work had significant influence on the development of modern Israeli architecture. Biography Dora Siegel (later Gad) was born in Câmpulung, Romania. She grew up in the home of her grandfather, and attended Hebrew school and a government-run school. Between 1930 and 1934, she studied at the Technische Universität in Vienna, and received her diploma in engineering and architecture. There she met her future husband, Heinrich Yehezkel Goldberg, an architecture student. They married in 1936, immigrated to Mandatory Palestine and settled in Tel Aviv. In 1959 she married Ephraim Ben-Artzi, a former general and public figure. Interior design career Gad began her career in the office of architect Oskar Kaufmann. Câmpulung
Câmpulung (also spelled ''Cîmpulung'', , german: Langenau, Old Romanian ''Dlăgopole'', ''Длъгополе'' (from Middle Bulgarian)), or ''Câmpulung Muscel'', is a municipality in the Argeș County, Muntenia, Romania. It is situated among the outlying hills of the Carpathian mountains, at the head of a long well-wooded glen traversed by the Râul Târgului, a tributary of the Argeș. Dov Karmi
Dov Karmi ( he, דב כרמי; ‎1905 – 14 May 1962) was a renowned architect of Mandate Palestine and Israel. Biography Dov Karmi was born in 1905, the son of Hannah and Sholom Weingarten, in Zhvanets, Russian Empire. In 1921 the Weingartens emigrated with their children to Mandatory Palestine, the future State of Israel. He initially studied art at the Bezalel School of Art and Craft, Jerusalem, but was attracted to architecture and went to Belgium to complete his studies in this field at Ghent University. Karmi worked in partnership with several other architects, including Zeev Rechter and, later in life, with his son Ram Karmi. ''Domus'' is an architecture and design magazine founded in 1928 by architect Gio Ponti and Barnabite father Giovanni Semeria. Published by Editoriale Domus, the magazine is issued 11 times a year on a monthly basis and has its headquarters in Rozzano, Milan. Beit HaNassi
The President's House, known in Hebrew as Beit HaNassi ('בֵּית הַנָּשִׂיא) and Mishkan HaNassi (מִשְׁכָּן הַנָּשִׂיא), is the official residence of the President of Israel. It is located in the Talbiya neighborhood of Jerusalem. Etymology In Modern Hebrew, ''beit'' means house, '' mishkan'' residence, and ''nasi'' president, the last being derived from the Biblical Hebrew word for prince.
