Dopo Yume
Dopo Yume is an American rock band from New York City. Founded in 1998 by Jordan Galland (lead vocals, guitar), Dopo Yume's lineup rotated regularly. The band's name is derived from the Italian word for "after" (dopo) and the Japanese translation for "dream" (yume). Their music is a combination of pop and indie rock and has been compared to The Strokes and Pulp. History At eighteen years old, Jordan Galland began songwriting for Dopo Yume. With a lineup that included Sean Lennon, Miho Hatori, Yuka Honda and Timo Ellis, the band performed around New York City and toured the United States as an opening act for Rufus Wainwright, Phantom Planet and Cibo Matto. In 2001, Dopo Yume independently released their debut album, ''Yumania''. Jordan Galland
Jordan Galland (born 1980) is an American filmmaker and musician based in New York City, and operates Slush Puppy Music, a record label, as well as his own film production company, Ravenous Films. Early life Born in Farmington, Connecticut, Galland was raised in New York City and graduated in 2002 from New York University, where he studied film, animation and mythology. Music career At eighteen, Galland formed the rock band Dopo Yume. Dopo Yume also played shows with musical group Phantom Planet, both contributed musical selections to the popular show The O.C. The Interpreters were a power pop band formed in Philadelphia in 1996. They were composed of singer and bassist Herschel Gaer, guitarist Patsy (Paul) Palladino and drummer Branko Jakominich. The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger is an American band formed in 2008 by Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl. The couple have stated that they started the band as a way to spend more time together, and while they released a number of recordings and went on tours as a duo, they consider ''Midnight Sun'', released in April 2014, their first real record. Morningwood was an alternative rock band from New York City. Founded in 2001, it primarily consisted of Pedro Yanowitz and Chantal Claret. Morningwood was signed to Capitol Records and released two albums. Claret went solo in 2012 and folded the band. Career Morningwood's '' self-titled debut album'' was produced by Gil Norton, known for his work with Pixies, the Foo Fighters, and Echo & the Bunnymen.
