Donnie Humphrey
Donnie Ray Humphrey (April 20, 1961 – September 1, 2014) was a former nose tackle and defensive end in the National Football League (NFL). Biography Humphrey was born Donnie Ray Humphrey on April 20, 1961, in Huntsville, Alabama. He played high school football at J.O. Johnson High School in Huntsville, Alabama. He is the father of WNBA player Tasha Humphrey. He died on September 1, 2014, at his Yucca Valley, California, home after an unspecified brief illness. Career Humphrey was drafted in the third round of the 1984 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers and played with the team for three seasons. In college, he was an All-American defensive lineman at Auburn University, playing there from 1979 to 1983. Huntsville, Alabama
Huntsville is a city in Madison County, Limestone County, and Morgan County, Alabama, United States. It is the county seat of Madison County. Located in the Appalachian region of northern Alabama, Huntsville is the most populous city in the state. Huntsville was founded within the Mississippi Territory in 1805 and became an incorporated town in 1811. When Alabama was admitted as a state in 1819, Huntsville was designated for a year as the first capital, before that was moved to more central settlements. 1984 NFL Draft
The 1984 NFL Draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held May 1–2, 1984, at the Omni Park Central Hotel in New York City, New York. No teams elected to claim any players in the regular supplemental draft that year. The NFL did have a special supplemental draft for college seniors who had already signed with the USFL or CFL on June 5, 1984. The 1984 draft was the first in ten years in which a quarterback was not selected in the first round; the first quarterback selected in 1984 was Boomer Esiason, who was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round, with the 38th overall pick. Tasha Humphrey (born December 29, 1985) is a professional basketball player. She played the center position for the Washington Mystics in the WNBA until being waived 6 July 2009. Her father was former Green Bay Packers player Donnie Humphrey.
