Harry Donnan
Henry Donnan (12 November 1864 – 13 August 1956) was an Australian cricketer who played in 5 Tests between 1892 and 1896. Donnan scored the first century in the Sheffield Shield when he made 120 for New South Wales against South Australia in the first Shield match in 1892–93. Donnan worked for the Colonial Sugar Refining Company for 42 years until he retired in 1923. James Mason Donnan III (born January 29, 1945) is a former American football player and coach and now a television analyst for college football and a motivational speaker. He served as the head football coach at Marshall University (1990–1995) and the University of Georgia (1996–2000), compiling a career record of 104–40. His 1992 Marshall team won an NCAA Division I-AA national title. Donnan was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 2009. Early life and college playing career Born in Laurens, South Carolina, Donnan grew up in Burlington, North Carolina and graduated from Walter M. Williams High School in 1963. Holland Donan (June 24, 1928 – March 4, 2014) was an American football defensive tackle. He played college football for Princeton University, graduating in 1951. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1984. Holland Donan was called the best tackle he ever coached by Princeton coach Charlie Caldwell. According to Caldwell, Donan's size, tremendous speed and uncanny ability to foresee enemy moves were what made him stand out among the nation's football athletes. Head line coach Dick Colman praised him for giving his teammates pep talks and boosting morale. In 1950, Donan led the Tigers to the Lambert Trophy and their first perfect record in 15 seasons. The 6–5, 230- pound bruiser helped arouse his team to a second half come- from-behind win that wiped out a 14-7 Navy lead. Princeton won, 20–14.
