Donna Keath
Donna Keath (died 1962) was an actress who worked in radio and on the stage. Although Keath was better known for her work in radio, she performed on stage in ''The Playboy of Newark'' at the Provincetown Playhouse in March 1943. She also played the character of Irene Halenczik in the short-running Broadway production of ''Sophie'' in December 1944. Keath gained fame playing the character of Lynne Dineen in the long running soap opera radio program '' Young Dr. Malone'' (1939 -1960). Keath was a founding member of Stage for Action (SFA), a “progressive theatre company” founded in December 1943. Keath became the chairman of SFA in April 1944. Peter Neubauer
Peter Bela Neubauer (July 5, 1913 – February 15, 2008) was an Austrian-born American child psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. Life The Neubauer family was part of a small Jewish community in Krems an der Donau, Austria, where Peter was born on July 5, 1913. He received his medical training at the University of Vienna and the University of Bern, in Switzerland, to which he escaped during the Nazi control of Austria. He completed his psychiatric training in Bern in 1941. Neubauer died in New York City on February 15, 2008, at the age of 94. Career Neubauer immigrated to New York in 1941, where he took a position on the staff of Bellevue Hospital. In an early influential paper, "The One-Parent Child and His Oedipal Development" (1960), Neubauer indicated that a father's absence could jeopardize child development as seriously as maternal deprivation. Jerre Mangione
Gerlando Mangione (March 20, 1909 – August 16, 1998) was an American writer and scholar of the Sicilian-American experience. Early life and education Mangione was born to Gaspare and Josephine Mangione (Polizzi) in Rochester, New York. His parents both emigrated from Agrigento, Italy. He was one of four children. Mangione attended the East High School and wanted to be a writer. He worked as a busboy, theater extra, paperboy. He attended Syracuse University in 1928 where he worked at The Daily Orange, did scholarly research on writer Stephen Crane. After his graduation in 1931, he was hired by Henry Luce to work at Finance desk at Time. In 1934, he started working for publisher Robert M. McBride. Provincetown Playhouse
The Provincetown Playhouse is a historic theatre at 133 MacDougal Street between 3rd Street (Manhattan), West 3rd and 4th Street (Manhattan), West 4th Streets in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. It is named for the Provincetown Players, who converted the former stable and wine-bottling plant into a theater in 1918. The original Players included George Cram Cook, Susan Glaspell, Eugene O'Neill, John Reed (journalist), John Reed, Louise Bryant, Floyd Dell, Ida Rauh, Edna St. Vincent Millay and Djuna Barnes.
