''Donna'' is the self-titled debut album by Filipino singer Donna Cruz (then using the mononym Donna), released in 1991 by Viva Records in the Philippines. Cruz received an award for Best New Female Recording Artist at the 1992 Awit Awards. The album spawned the hits "Rain" (a Boy Mondragon original), "Boy (I Love You)" (a Cherie Gil original) and the lead single, "Kapag Tumibok ang Puso", which was Cruz's debut single and breakthrough hit. The album was re-issued in 1991 and included a bonus track entitled "Ba't Di Mo Sabihin", a duet with Filipino balladeer and former Smokey Mountain member Tony Lambino. Donna Cruz Yrastorza-Larrazabal professionally known as Donna Cruz is a Filipina singer and actress. She is a member of the Philippine showbiz family Cruz. Her self-titled debut album ''Donna'' was well received by the general public and earned her a double platinum certification. Cruz's fourth studio album ''Habang May Buhay'' earned a certification of four-times platinum six months after its release. Its lead single "Only Me and You" became a radio hit in the Philippines during the summer of 1995. Darna () is a Filipina superheroine created by writer Mars Ravelo and artist Nestor Redondo. The character's first appearance was in ''Pilipino Komiks'' (Ace Publications, Inc.) #77 on May 13, 1950. Darna is a retooling of Ravelo's earlier character, Varga, whose stories he wrote and illustrated himself. This character first appeared in ''Bulaklak Magazine'', Volume 4, #17 on July 23, 1947. Ravelo left the Bulaklak Magazine publications due to differences with the publication's editors. ''That's Entertainment'' is a Philippine television variety show broadcast by GMA Network. Originally hosted by German Moreno and Ike Lozada, it premiered on January 6, 1986. The show concluded on May 3, 1996 with a total of 3,200 episodes. Overview The show was created by German Moreno who initially wanted teenaged celebrity siblings to star in the show and name it as ''Brothers and Sisters''. After watching the American film ''That's Entertainment!'', Moreno decided to change the title of the show. German Molina Moreno (; October 4, 1933 – January 8, 2016), also known as Kuya Germs ( or ) and dubbed as "The Master Showman", was a Filipino television host, presenter, actor, comedian, talent manager, producer, writer, and director. Early life Moreno was born to Jose Moreno y Calvo (Pepe), a Spanish Filipino mestizo, and Aurora Molina, a Filipina. He had one sister, Pilar Moreno Nite. West Side Story
''West Side Story'' is a musical conceived by Jerome Robbins with music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by Arthur Laurents. "Somewhere", sometimes referred to as "Somewhere (There's a Place for Us)" or simply "There's a Place for Us", is a song from the 1957 Broadway musical ''West Side Story'' that was made into films in 1961 and 2021. The music is composed by Leonard Bernstein with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Smokey Mountain
''Smokey Mountain'' was the term coined for a large landfill once located in Tondo, Manila. History ''Smokey Mountain'' operated for more than 50 years, consisting of over two million metric tons of waste. The flammable substances on decomposing waste led to fires which has resulted in many deaths. On March 19, 1993, a joint venture agreement, between the National Housing Authority (NHA) and R-II Builders Inc. (RBI) was made to build a low-cost housing project at Smokey Mountain. On 15 August 2007, this agreement was declared valid by the Philippine Supreme Court. The area was officially closed in 1995. The site was turned into public housing for the impoverished people living in the slums surrounding the landfill. The slums were also cleared, which was the home of 30,000 people that make their living from picking through the landfill's rubbish.
