Donegal Intermediate Football Championship
The Donegal Intermediate Football Championship (abbreviated as Donegal IFC) is an annual football competition organised by Donegal GAA. An Clochán Liath are the title holders (2022) defeating Naomh Columba in the Final. History The competition has been won by 27 clubs, 13 of which have won it more than once. Glenfin, Na DĂşnaibh, Naomh Muire, RĂ©alt na Mara, Cloich Cheann Fhaola and Termon are the most successful clubs, each winning three titles. Declan Bonner was player-manager of the 1989 winning team. He won the Ulster Senior Football Championship with his county in 1990, followed by another in 1992 and the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship of 1992 as well. CLG An Clochán Liath
CLG An Clochán Liath is a Gaelic football only GAA club based in An Clochán Liath, a Gaeltacht town in County Donegal, Ireland. The club fields both men's and ladies' teams at underage to Senior level. However, they currently play at intermediate level. The club were relegated to intermediate after 33 years in the 2020 Donegal Senior Football Championship. History An Clochán Liath have won the Donegal Senior Football Championship on seven occasions, the last coming in 1958. Michael Boyle (footballer)
Michael Boyle (born 1986/7) is an Irish sportsperson and Gaelic football coach. He plays with his local club Termon and also, formerly, for the Donegal county team. Educated at St Eunan's College in Letterkenny, he was his county's number one goalkeeper in the past, though Paul Durcan had something to say about that. Boyle has also played soccer for Finn Harps in the League of Ireland. Playing career College Boyle studied Sports Science and Health at Dublin City University (DCU). Boyle won the Sigerson Cup twice in 2010 and 2012 with the DCU GAA team. He was goalkeeper on both occasions, on the team that beat UCC in the 2010 final and the team that beat Maynooth in the 2012 final. St Michael's (''CLG Naomh MĂcheál'') is a GAA club based in Creeslough/Dunfanaghy in County Donegal. Located in the north of the county, the club is affected by rural issues such as low population and emigration; despite this they play at the top level in the Donegal Senior Football Championship and opened a new clubhouse in 2010. The Donegal Senior Football Championship (abbreviated as Donegal SFC) is an annual football competition organised by Donegal GAA and contested by the highest-level clubs, to determine the best team in County Donegal. Since 2016, it has been known as Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure Donegal SFC after its headline sponsor. Initially a straight knock-out competition, the Donegal SFC added a round-robin group stage in 2013. The final is played at MacCumhaill Park in Ballybofey. The winning club qualifies to represent its county in the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship, the winners of which go on to compete in the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. The winning club receives the Dr Maguire Cup. The competition has been won by 17 clubs, 14 of which have won it more than once. Brian Roper (born 1974/5) is an American Gaelic footballer who has lived in Ireland most of his life, and who played for Aodh Ruadh and the Donegal county team. Roper preferred to play centre-forward, but tended to play at wing-forward for Donegal. Frank McGlynn (born 1985) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Glenfin and who played for the Donegal county team between 2006 and 2019.
