Donald Nuechterlein
Donald Edwin Nuechterlein (June 20, 1925 – July 7, 2022) was an American diplomat and academic, professor of international relations, Federal Executive Institute, Charlottesville, Virginia, from 1968 to 1988. Early life Nuechterlein was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on June 20, 1925, the son of Edwin William and Laura Anna Nuechterlein. He earned bachelor's master's and PhD degrees from the University of Michigan. Career He was professor of international relations at the Federal Executive Institute, Charlottesville, Virginia, from 1968 to 1988. Saginaw, Michigan
Saginaw () is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the seat of Saginaw County. The city of Saginaw and Saginaw County are both in the area known as Mid-Michigan. Saginaw is adjacent to Saginaw Charter Township and considered part of Greater Tri-Cities region of Central Michigan. The Saginaw County MSA had a population of 190,124 in 2020. The city is also the largest municipality in the Saginaw, Midland, and Bay City Metropolitan Area, with a combined population of 377,474 in the combined statistical area in 2020. The city proper had a population of 44,202 at the 2020 census. Saginaw was a thriving lumber town in the 19th century and an important industrial city and manufacturing center throughout much of the 20th century. Published on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays (along with a joint Tuesday edition with ''The Bay City Times''), the paper has approximately 30,000 readers each day.
