Donald Martin (bishop)
Donald Martin (1873–1938) was a Scottish Roman Catholic clergyman who served as the Bishop of Argyll and the Isles from 1919 to 1938. Born in Salen on the Ardnamurchan peninsula, Scotland on 6 October 1873. He studied at the Royal Scots College, Valladolid from 1899 to 1905 where his uncle, David McDonald, was rector. He was ordained to the priesthood on 23 September 1905. He served as parish priest in Castlebay 1906-1908, curate in Glencoe 1908-1909 and parish priest of Oban 1909-1919. He was appointed the Bishop of the Diocese of Argyll and the Isles by the Holy See on 2 April 1919, and consecrated to the Episcopate on 11 June 1919 at Oban. Martín Casillas
Martín Casillas (1556–1618) was a Spanish architect (″alarife″), best known for designing the Cathedral of Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico. His place of birth is disputed between the cities of Almendralejo and Trujillo (Cáceres) in Extremadura. He trained with Francisco Becerra, with whom he would reach new Spain as an apprentice in 1573. Another option is that he arrived later along with Alonso Pablos (or Sanchez), another member of his workshop. He worked then and at least until 1585, in the «medias muestras» (mediums of the toral pillars) of the Cathedral of Mexico, the work directed by Claudio de Arciniega, moving then to the city of Guadalajara. Martín Alfonso de León (c. 1220before April 1272) was an illegitimate son of Alfonso IX of León by Teresa Gil de Soverosa, a Portuguese noblewoman, daughter of Gil Vasques de Soverosa and María Aires de Fornelos, also mistress of King Sancho I of Portugal with whom she had a son and daughter. Don Martin (footballer)
Don Martin (15 February 1944 – 15 November 2009) was an English professional footballer who played for Northampton Town and Blackburn Rovers. Career Martin came through the ranks at Northampton Town, although he hardly got into the team during the first few years. However, during the middle part of the 60's, he became a prolific scorer and when the Cobblers were promoted to Division One, he was one of the two joint top scorers. Despite the Cobblers falling back down the divisions Martin continued to score goals and once the club fell into Division Three, Blackburn Rovers stepped in with a bid of £36,000. Martin spent eight years at Blackburn suffering relegation to the Third Division and winning promotion back to the second tier in that time.
