Donald L. Tucker
Donald L. Tucker (July 23, 1935 – September 24, 2019) was an American politician who served as the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and In 1952, Tucker attended Florida American Legion Boys State, serving as that year's program Governor. Tucker earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida in 1962. He served as Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives from 1974 to 1978, the 49th of 58 consecutive Democrats to do so. The Florida House of Representatives is the lower house of the Florida Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Florida, the Florida Senate being the upper house. Article III, Section 1 of the Constitution of Florida, adopted in 1968, defines the role of the Legislature and how it is to be constituted. The House is composed of 120 members, each elected from a single-member district with a population of approximately 180,000 residents.
