Donald J. Farish
Donald J. Farish (December 7, 1942 – July 5, 2018) was a Canadian American biologist and zoologist who served as the 10th president of Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. He was president of Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey from 1998 to 2011. Early life and education Farish was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, in 1942 and moved to Vancouver at age 16. He won a scholarship through a national competition to become the first member of his family to attend college. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of British Columbia in 1963, majoring in zoology, and a master's degree from North Carolina State University in 1966, majoring in entomology. He earned a doctorate in biology from Harvard University in 1970, studying under the eminent biologist E.O. Wilson. Ronald Oscar Champagne (born 1942) is an American higher education administrator. Champagne was born in Rhode Island. He holds a bachelor's degree from Duquesne University and master's degrees from Fordham University and Catholic University of America. He earned his Ph.D. at Fordham in the foundations of mathematics and physics. He was the first member of his family to attend college. He served as president of Saint Xavier University from 1982 to 1994. ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib ( ar, عَلِيّ بْن أَبِي طَالِب; 600 – 661 CE) was the last of four Rightly Guided Caliphs to rule Islam (r. 656 – 661) immediately after the death of Muhammad, and he was the first Shia Imam. Herman James (February 25, 1943 – October 2, 2010) was an American educator who served as the 5th president of Glassboro State College, later Rowan College of New Jersey, and then Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey from 1984 to 1998. During his tenure as president, Rowan University received a $100 million gift from Henry Rowan Henry Madison "Hank" Rowan Jr. (December 4, 1923 – December 9, 2015) was an American engineer and philanthropist.
