Eileen Chamberlain Donahoe is a former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, having been appointed by President Barack Obama in 2009. (She was the first ambassador following the referent UN body changing from the predecessor United Nations Commission on Human Rights.) After serving her term as ambassador, Donahoe was appointed as Director of Global Affairs for Human Rights Watch. Patrick Donahoe (born Munnery, County Cavan, Ireland, 17 March 1811; died Boston, U.S.A., 18 March 1901) was a publisher who founded influential magazines for the Irish Catholic community in his adopted country. Terence Richard Boyd Donahoe (October 30, 1944 – November 29, 2005) was a Nova Scotia opposition leader, cabinet minister, and MLA. Early life and education Terry Donahoe was born in Halifax on October 30, 1944. His father Richard was Mayor of Halifax, served in the provincial cabinet as Minister of Public Health and Welfare and Attorney General and was a Senator. Donahoe's older brother Art was also an MLA and served as Speaker of the House of Assembly of Nova Scotia. Tom Donahoe is the senior director of player personnel for the Philadelphia Eagles. Previously, he was general manager of the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL. Biography Donahoe was born and raised in the Pittsburgh suburb of Mt. Lebanon. He is a grandson of longtime Pittsburgh mayor and Pennsylvania Governor David L. Lawrence. Jonny Donahoe is a British comedian, writer and performer. He is one half of the comedy band Jonny and the Baptists, with Paddy Gervers. Richard Alphonsus Donahoe, Q.C., K.S.G. (September 27, 1909 – April 25, 2000) was a Canadian lawyer and politician. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the son of James Donahoe and Rebecca Duggan, he was educated at Dalhousie University and set up practice in Halifax. In 1936, he married Mary Boyd. Donahoe ran unsuccessfully for the House of Commons of Canada as the National Government candidate in the riding of Halifax in 1940 federal election. In 1951, he was elected an alderman on the Halifax City Council. He was elected mayor in 1952 and was acclaimed in 1953 and 1954. He was elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly in a 1954 by-election held after the death of Angus L. Macdonald and was re-elected four times in 1956, 1960, 1963 and 1967.
