History The band formed as a four-piece in the summer of 1981 and featured Alec MacKaye, former vocalist for the Untouchables, on vocals, Michael Hampton and Ivor Hanson of Henry Rollins' first band, State of Alert on guitar and drums respectively, as well as Chris Bald on bass. They called themselves 'The Faith' and played their first show at H.B. Woodlawn High School in November '81. Alec described the name as "a positive kind of sound, not negative like so many others." Too Many Humans
''Too Many Humans.....'' is the debut studio album by the American noise rock band No Trend, released through their own No Trend Records in 1984 on vinyl format. The album is known for its brash, misanthropic lyrics, as evident on tracks such as "Reality Breakdown" and "Mindless Little Insects". It has been described as "nightmarish" and has been compared to other noisy bands such as Flipper and Public Image Ltd. The title track would serve as inspiration for Godflesh during the recording of their 1988 album ''Streetcleaner''. The album was long thought to never be reissued due to the supposed destruction of the original master tapes. However, on May 29, 2020, Drag City released a box set reissue and remaster of the album, along with both versions of '' Teen Love''. It is considered as an elementary piece of the punk rock (specifically hardcore punk) genre and has been cited by many critics and magazines as one of the best progressions for the history of rock music, which specifically helped shape the path of many genres of underground musical currents ( alternative music). Its influence is notorious in future bands that would boost the youth crew movement, also in other genres such as grunge, post-hardcore, 90's skate punk and thrash metal, as well in the development of the New York hardcore music scene and aesthetics style. This album’s increase ...
