Don W. Sears
Don W. Sears (1921-2007) was the eighth Dean and Professor Emeritus of Law at the University of Colorado Law School. Sears was also a two-time recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his military service during World War II. Military service Sears enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943 during the last semester of his senior year at Ohio State University. He served in the 8th Armored Division with distinction and honor, earning two Purple Hearts with Oak Leaf Clusters and two Bronze Stars with Oak Leaf Clusters for gallantry and bravery. Sears also received several battlefield commissions, and ended his two years in the war theater as a major. Education Sears earned his bachelor's degree from the Ohio State University in 1946, where he was a wrestler, sang in the men's glee club and on the OSU campus radio, and was selected by the faculty as the outstanding senior to the Dipper and Bucket Big Ten honorary society with a 3.95 GPA. University Of Colorado Law School
The University of Colorado Law School is one of the professional graduate schools within the University of Colorado System. It is a public law school, with more than 500 students attending and working toward a Juris Doctor or Master of Studies in Law. The Wolf Law Building is located in Boulder, Colorado, and is sited on the south side of the University of Colorado at Boulder campus. The law school houses the William A. The Judge Advocate General's Corps also known as the "JAG Corps" or " JAG" is the legal arm of the United States Air Force. History The United States Air Force became a separate military service in September 1947. On June 25, 1948, Congress established an office of The Judge Advocate General (TJAG) in the United States Air Force. On July 8, 1949, the Air Force Chief of Staff designated 205 attorneys Air Force Judge Advocates. Thus, ironically, there were Air Force judge advocates three months before there was an Air Force Judge Advocate General. Following the promulgation of enabling legislation, the Air Force Judge Advocate General's Department was established on January 25, 1949, by Department of the Air Force General Order No. 7 (as amended by General Order No. 17, May 15, 1949).
