Don Johnson (sports Executive)
Donald Stewart Johnson (March 25, 1930May 12, 2012) was a Canadian sports executive. He was elected president of the Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador, Newfoundland Amateur Hockey Association (NAHA) in 1966, sought to expand minor ice hockey in Newfoundland and negotiated for the NAHA to become a member of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA). He was elected president of the CAHA in 1975, resolved internal disagreement over the jurisdiction of junior ice hockey, avoided the withdrawal of the Western Hockey League, Western Canada Hockey League and sought a new professional-amateur agreement with the National Hockey League and World Hockey Association. He was part of negotiations to end the Canada men's national ice hockey team hiatus from the Ice Hockey World Championships and the Olympic Games, in exchange for International Ice Hockey Federation approval of the 1976 Canada Cup. Campbellton is a city in Restigouche County, New Brunswick, Canada. Fairview is a community within the urban area of Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada. History Prior to European colonization, the Mi'kmaq lived on the land for thousands of years. In the 1750s, many of the Foreign Protestants settled in the area. First known as the ''Westerwald'' ("western forest"), the settlement was called the ''Dutch Village'' by non-German locals. Some of the passengers of the Foreign Protestant ships settled temporarily in the Dutch Village while they waited for a more permanent settlement in Lunenburg County. Digby is an incorporated town in southwestern Nova Scotia, Canada. Senior Ice Hockey
Senior hockey refers to amateur or semi-professional ice hockey competition. There are no age restrictions for Senior players, who typically consist of those whose Junior eligibility has expired. Senior hockey leagues operate under the jurisdiction of Hockey Canada or USA Hockey. They are not affiliated in any way with professional hockey leagues. Many former professional players play Senior hockey after their pro careers are over. The top Senior AAA teams in Canada compete annually for the Allan Cup. Middleton is a town in Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, Canada.
