Henri Donald Foster (July 31, 1889 – December 23, 1969) was an American actor who appeared in a number of television series during the 1950s and 1960s, including ''Perry Mason'', ''The Addams Family'', '' Bewitched'' and ''The Monkees''. He played recurring character Herbert Johnson, the Baxters' dotty neighbor in the 1960s sitcom A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use ..., '' Hazel''. He also had bit parts in a few Hollywood films. Foster's first acting experience was on a showboat on the Mississippi River. His Broadway debut came in ''The Country Cousin'' (1917). His final Broadway performance was in ''The Ponder Heart'' (1956). On December 23, 1969, Foster died at his home in Hollywood, California. He was 80 years old. Don Foster, Baron Foster Of Bath
Donald Michael Ellison Foster, Baron Foster of Bath (born 31 March 1947), is a British politician and life peer who served as Government Deputy Chief Whip and Comptroller of the Household from 2013 to 2015. A member of the Liberal Democrats, he was Member of Parliament (MP) for Bath from 1992 to 2015. Early life Foster was born in Preston, Lancashire, and attended the Lancaster Royal Grammar School before Keele University where he was awarded a BSc degree in physics and psychology in 1969, and also received the CertEd that same year. He later received an MEd in education at the University of Bath in 1981. He was a science teacher at Sevenoaks School in Kent in 1969, before appointment as Avon Education Authority's Science Project Director in 1975 and as a Lecturer in Education at Bristol University in 1980, before being engaged as a management consultant with Pannell Kerr Forster from 1989 until his election to the House of Commons. Donald Wayne Foster
Donald Wayne Foster (born 1950) was a professor of English at Vassar College in New York. He is now retired. He is known for his work dealing with various issues of Shakespearean authorship through textual analysis. He has also applied these techniques in attempting to uncover mysterious authors of some high-profile contemporary texts. As several of these were in the context of criminal investigations, Foster was sometimes labeled a " forensic linguist". He has been inactive in this arena, however, since Condé Nast settled a defamation lawsuit brought against one of his publications for an undisclosed sum in 2007. Shakespearean scholarship Foster first achieved notice for addressing the mystery of the dedication of Shakespeare's sonnets. In the edition published by Thomas Thorpe, a dedication appears to "Mr. W.H." as the "onlie begetter" of the sonnets, and the identity of W.H. has aroused much speculation over the years.
