Don Davis (gun Retailer)
Don Davis (April 10, 1933 – February 4, 2016) was an American gun retailer, the owner of Don's Guns and Galleries, a firearms retailer in Indianapolis, Indiana. He claimed to be the largest independent gun dealer in the United States, and his store has been called the largest public display of firearms in America. For a while, he operated multiple 24-hour stores in the Indianapolis area. On October 4, 1997, Davis' Greenwood, Indiana, store was robbed, and employee Steven Stapleton was shot and killed. Soon after the incident, Don closed all his stores except for the Lafayette Road flagship store, which reduced its business hours. On September 17, 2012, a customer visiting the store to utilize its indoor shooting range intentionally shot a store employee twice. The employee immediately returned fire, killing his attacker. Don Davis (Gaelic Footballer)
Don Davis (born 13 March 1969) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played as a full-forward for the Cork senior team. Born in Skibbereen, County Cork, Davis first played competitive Gaelic football whilst at school at St Fachtna's De La Salle Secondary School. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 1993 championship. Davis went on to play a key role for the team over the next seven years, winning four Munster medals and one National Football League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions. Davis was a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on one occasion, however, he ended his career without a Railway Cup medal. Donnie Davis (born December 16, 1972) was the starting quarterback for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in 1993 and 1995. He later played in the Arena Football League for the Arizona Rattlers, Milwaukee Mustangs, and Georgia Force. College Davis's college career began in the wake of the 1990 National Championship run under Head Coach Bobby Ross. Davis redshirted in 1991 and would await the graduation of star quarterback Shawn Jones through his redshirt freshman and sophomore seasons. Bobby Ross would leave before Davis's sophomore season and Bill Lewis was appointed head coach. The team, 2 years removed from a National Title, only won five games and finished the 1992 season with a 5–6 record. High school years Davis attended Olathe South High School in Olathe, Kansas, and was a student and a letterman in football, basketball, and track & field. Donnie Ray Davis (September 18, 1940 – January 19, 2004) was an American football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Oilers. He also was a member of the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Southern University.
